Embrace the suck...you're living nic free!!! Take notice of it and use it as motivation to never cave. There are no shortcuts. And that is pretty cool if you think about it. We've all been where you are. You've taken the first step...let us help you with the rest. We got your back because you got ours. Don't let us down. Stay strong. It does get better.

Welcome,

I identify with the eating machine and no sleep. Seems like for the last 50 days the smallest shit would "irritate" me and keep me awake.

Now at 53 days, I have had two great nights of sleep, and the key seems to be to stay away from sugary, starchy foods and hit protiens. I have also started to exercise each night, about 15 minuts on an eliptical that has been decaying in the garage for the last 4 years. This has really turned the tables for me.

Don't know if it will help at Day 3, just keep in mind that it does get better.

Greetings folks, I am new to the site and new to quitting. I have tried to make the jump to quit many times, however this time I'm serious and seeking support. I usually go a day or two and fail. I have been dipping for 6 or 7 years now and consider myself a heavy user. This is day three and I'm glad to see I'm not alone in the battle. I'm going cold turkey, no patch, no gum. I have become an eating machine, not to mention a sleepless mess. Heres hoping it gets better from here. This is only day 3
Welcome SG14 !

I like the old school Pats name. I'm from Taunton, MA and appreciate a Grogan reference!! Maybe I'll change mine to SamBamCunningham!!!

Now, back to your Quit. 3 days in Nic free is a major accomplishment. The last bit of nicotine is leaving your system. You have the mental hurdles ahead of you. Don't worry about the eating, I gained 15lb at first. You will take that off once you are solid in your Quit. The sleepless nights will continue for a little bit but I guarantee it will get better.

Browse around the site and read as much as you can. Go to the welcome center and learn how to post roll. You'll be in the March group.

PM me if I can help you in any way.

Brian

Hang in there Steve, it does get better. However on day 3 you will go through the typical nicotine withdrawal symptoms. I chewed for 37 years and tried to quit multiple times. Keep in mind that the cravings will not last, sweat it out. Get yourself some sunflower seeds to chew on or the Smokey Mountain Chew which is Nicotine free. Does not taste like tobacco but gives you that feel in your lip. Stay in touch with the website, allot of quit years here. Realize one thing, you are an addict to nicotine - so take it one day at a time.
