Thanks for the encouraging posts and I'm working on it. Pinched, I see you were in the Marines as well, I was in the Corps myself which is where I starting dipping so much.

I have found fireballs are a good alternative for me however they make my cheeks feel worse than dip did.
Yes sir, and there are several of us Devil Dawgs on here. All of us had our hats screwed on so tight and were such bad asses back then that no one could ever prove to us that this shit was bad.

I eat my weight in redhots daily. Also tears up the mouth but I can be proud knowing that my jaw will remain in tact.

Check you inbox on here for a PM from me (upper right hand corner).

No really man, welcome to the neighborhood and getting a bad ass quitter like pinched on your side from the get go does not make you weak but rather very wise. So while you are here, each and every day make that promise and lean on us as together we all kick this crap and thrust the sword through the nic bitch.

I quit with you one day at a time, standing right beside you shoulder to shoulder.

You can do this, yell if you need anything.

Welcome to KTC, welcome to taking your life back one day at a time. It is very important to note that you have to do it daily, hell some days hourly.

There are several tools on this site (not only talking about the people either) that can help you in your quit. First you must realize it is an addiction not a habit. Second in lieu of saying that you hope the wife can be more supportive, understand that you need to change not her so it is all on you to help her help you.

Learn how to post roll: How to Post Roll

Post Roll here: Pre HOF April 2014

Here is a great link to send your wife to allow her to help (you should also read) Spousal Support

Read everything that you can on here. Take it in as your time allows. The minimum price of admission on here is to post roll daily, that is your pledge or promise to be quit for that day. Take that seriously as this is a promise.

Find an alternative to dip, be it candies, seeds, fake dip, whatever works for you and use it and keep it on hand 24/7/365. Next drink lots and lots of water, imagine that you should not pass a latrine without needing to use it. Find an outlet for your anger, I work out and hit a punching bag (sometimes daily). The leather bag doesn't mind and it costs less than bail money or 1/2 of my possessions.

Quit like a beast every day and own this; it is not easy but if your life is worth having then you will learn to fight through it.

Exchange phone numbers with other quitters, use your buddy Jake to help; if I can do this you can do this too!

P.S. The underlined words above are links to locations on this forum.

Welcome.

Ask your wife to read the Spousal Support section so she'll have a better understanding of what you are going through. Non addicts just don't get it. And, very important, when you area pissed and raging bitch at us. Don't take it out on the family. Live Chat is great for venting and for getting to know quitters.

Congrats on making a fine decision. Read all you can in the Welcome Center, Hall of Fame Speeches, and the Word of Wisdom.

Quit - Day 2
« on: January 02, 2014, 03:22:00 PM »
So after 16 years I finally decided to kick the habit as a New Years resolution. I dipped probably 1.5-2 cans a day over the past 5-10 years and I've had the worst headache over the past day and a half. Oh well, here's to not having to always worry about having a fresh spitter before I play with my son, here's to a new beginning.

Also, I hope the wife can be a little more supportive. I know I'm irritable but yesterday was rough since we got into quite a few arguments which I'm sure is common.
