Day 29 update: I'm surprised that the cravings still persist after almost a month being quit. The weekends are the worst and I'm thankful for the daily roll call post to keep me straight. I had my first dip dream last night and tried to rationalize the dream cave. This addiction is real and I'm thankful for my brothers for keeping me motivated and committed to the quit. Quit on brothers and know that I quit with you today.
12 years using nicotine is a lot of time poisoning yourself. It will take more than 29 days to reverse that. I can't tell you exactly when you will feel "normal" again. I'm at day 205 and I'm not sure that I feel "normal" myself yet either. Since I used for over 35 years, I'm not sure that I even know what "normal" feels like anymore anyway.

I do know that I am past the suck. I posted roll this morning and I kept my promise. I can't wait to post my promise again tomorrow.

Craves will come and go - dip dreams will come and go too. I had a smoking dream just a few days ago which was weird because I haven't smoked a cigarette since early 2008.

Keep posting roll and keep helping others stay quit. Every time you help someone it will help your own quit 100 times. Get digits from others in your group and use them. There will be tough days ahead and there is no reason to face them alone. Quitting alone sucks - it never worked for me. Quitting with a team is the way to do it. B)B

nice quit, rellen! It's just a day.

My days have put over $10,000 directly in my pocket, so far. No kidding.

I quit with you today! Why wouldn't we?

Day 17 of being completely tobacco free. I was using a can a day of Grizzly wintergreen for approximately 12 years. I had wanted to quit before by tapering down or weening but always failed. I stopped cold turkey when I got the stomach flu and didn't dip for 2 days. I thought, if I can stop for 2 days why not go for the final quit. I have been lurking on this site for 2 weeks and this is my first time posting. I don't know how this site works (never posted on a forum, not familiar with the matrix) or where I am supposed to go from here. Thanks for the great posts that have been keeping me informed and keeping my mind off of dip for the past 17 days.
Congrats on the quit, 18 days Nic Free, how does it feel? You don't have to tell me, the Nic Bitch is whispering in your ear already to come back to her, DONT DO IT, she is a liar.

You can do this.

I quit with you today.

Keep on it! You are doing great! Posting Roll everyday is a promise we make to ourselves and others in the group. Get some digits from some of your fellow quitters and make this stick. Congratulations on the best decision!

Just for today, Self.

And you posted roll, which is a huge step. You got yourself through the real intense days on your own. Although you are not out of the woods going forward that is a bad ass accomplishment in its own right.
For me quitting is black or white...there are no shades of gray. Either I am quit or I am not....so when your addict brain comes up with hint after hint after hint for why you should throw in a dip....know that all of those reasons are utter bullshit. Your mouth won't feel better by dipping again. You can't just bum a dip off a friend and just keep yourself from buying any of your own. You can't buy a can, have one, and the throw the rest away and get back to quitting after just one.
This time has to be different. if you are going to be like us.....post roll....every morning...no exceptions. The more you post, the more it will mean to you, and I guarantee at some point that daily promise that you made will be the only thing keeping you from being chained back up to a life of feeding yourself with nicotine. Be strong...good luck.
