Stay close to the KTC website too. Read everything and get involved. I stayed on this site as much as possible first few weeks and it really helped. No way I was caving if I was on here.

Hey guys! I decided after 10 years to quit!
- little bit of a background-
I work in the oildfields in california and its almost a right of passage to either dip or smoke. I just had a new born boy that was born with bi lateral clef lip and palette. I can see the pain he endores and I rather not get cancer of the mouth because of him. I really need help.

All encouragement and ideas would be greatly apprenticed!

Thanks guys!
Yep it pretty much is a right of passage for many oilfield workers. Welcome to our November group  all the best to you Tomas!

I dipped and chewed for 20 years. Been quit for 1073 days. You can do this.

Post roll, which is your promise to stay quit for 24 hours.
Honor your word.
Meet me back here tomorrow.

^^^^ There's some encouragement and some ideas, just as you requested.

Welcome to KTC.

Wow, well first of all congratulations on deciding to quit. You will be challenged every day and tempted to stay the course.

Pack plenty of replacement dip (fake stuff), gum, mints and drinks tons of water. If you ever run out it will be easier to cave and bum a dip. Don't allow yourself to be weak.

Exercise works great, or better yet keep some dirt and oil on your hands all day and don't allow yourself to pack a nasty pinch.

Be tough every day, create a network of people to help you out via text, phone or on here.

Post up roll in your quit group, which should be Pre HOF-November 13, be accountable for your quit and quit because you want to.

Sorry to hear about your young en, take care of them at all costs and I hope the best for you, your family and your QUIT.

Look for a PM from me (on your inbox in forum (upper right corner), for more information.

These guys kinda nailed it Tomas. Glad to see the excitement in your quit.

If you post roll everyday, stick around and read what others have laid down before you, and keep your word, you will be successful in your quit.

Plenty of people here to help you through the rough times. Just have to reach out for it.
