RBF,

You have the right mind set, and I am glad that you have found this site. We cannot worry about quitting forever, it is too long of a time and too hard to grasp. We can quit today though, which is why we post roll call. It is our daily promise not to use nicotine. And as for the stress, nicotine does not help make situations less stressful. In reality it adds more stress to your life, worrying and planning when you can get your next fix. Although quitting can be stressful, the worst of it is only temporaily. Keep quitting one day at a time and I promise you that it gets much better.

Reach out if you need anything.

Steve

I'm 31 and I've been a Grizzly man for several years. Tried to quit several times but when I was stressed it was my go to. I thought it made the stress go away but found that in the long run it just adds more stress. I always knew it was bad for me, but until I started getting sharp pains in my jaw (and could no longer feel the tip of my tongue) it didn't really hit home. I wasn't just scared for me, but for my kids. What kind of example was I setting for them and how would I answer the question, "Why didn't you just quit?". I knew the answer but I didn't like it. It's because I was weak.

So 26 days ago I put it down and I've put it down everyday since. The can could have killed me. Everyday that I don't dip I feel stronger because I'm overcoming what I once thought I couldn't. I still have moments where the cravings are very intense but I have resolved to quit for my family and myself. I just recently found this site and so far it has been a great resource and place to find strength when I need it.

Thanks for reading.
Excellent decision.

Now go post roll and claim your quit.
