Rubber, glad to see you posted roll! Like we say here, the only way to screw up Roll, is not being on it! Drink the kool-aid and get this done. It's worth every damn second of a little ass chewing. Put your big boy britches on and quit on. 30 years is a long time to be able to quit for a year before you need help. Stay active and get numbers from some quitters, you may be bad enough on your own, bit I've seen several not so strong not need any help and have caved. Don't be that guy! Damn proud to be quit with you!
Tobacco is so addictive it took me a year after a massive heart attack, in which doctor confirmed caused from dipping to finally put a lid on the bitch! ODAAT EDD

Thanks all, yeah the posting roll thing, I got confused, too many steps involved, Im staying off this stuff, Im done with it, the funny thing is I had no plan AT ALL to quit at this time, I just went to 711 last week and they were out of copenhagen and the week before that it was stale copenhagen, At that point, I said eff this crap, why be addicted to something that (a) I can only get 1/2 the time and (b) something that when I can get it is stale which equals a waste of time for me.
Look here rubber, 30 year's of addiction and you think you got this shit? Well let me give you a little advice BULLSHIT! I don't give a shit if you screw it up for a month ,go to March and figure out how to do it or you will be sucking that shit again. Ask me how I know because I dipped 38 years and tried quitting numerous times only to fail every single time, obviously just like you! Look you ain't getting any younger and 30 years is a lot of life to waste on such a disgusting ass habit! I quit with you!
Not to mention, it really isnt that hard to stop doing something if you decide you want to, its the staying quit that is difficult, I know i can do a year easy, yeah the first few weeks suck its after that year that is the hard part. and when I say 30 years, well i started dipping 30 years ago but that was like very limited it didnt become a heavy duty thing until like 20 years ago, and recently the past 5 years (1) can of cope every 2 days, but the whole time i was awake I would have a dip in
Maybe I can help explain...

This place will teach you how to quit, but you have to buy in to the process got it to work. Buying in means posting roll. Every single one of us fucked posting roll up the first 20 times we did it. Every one of us. But in order for us to be successful, we kept trying. It is part of the process dude.

Posting roll is our commitment to ourselves and each other that we will stay nicotine free for the day. We postbourbpromise, we keep our word. When you put your name on that list, others in your group that are going through the same shit at the same time as you reach out and the brotherhood starts building. Yeah I know it sounds crazy. It isn't. It works.

We don't quit for a year. We don't worry about day 366. We quit for today. I felt the same way you did when I joined, but less than a month from now I will be hitting 3 years - all one day at a time.

I got chewed out pretty good by some veterans on this site when I joined cause I was pretty sure I had it all figured out too. I reluctantly gave in and started posting roll every day, and haven't missed a day since. This is too important to do otherwise. I hope you to the same. There is no other plan that works.

Nice intro man.

In time you will look back and see that you didn't like it. That you didn't need it. That it didn't help you enjoy yourself. That you didn't have more fun because of it.

Nicotine takes. Money. Time. Health. Freedom. Self worth. Priorities. This list could go on all day, but it is a huge taker.

You are now taking back. It is hard to do at the beginning, but you are in the right place. We understand the struggles, but we also understand the rewards. Trust us when we promise better days ahead.

Welcome aboard sir. After 30 years, you are really gonna like the new you.
This here. I was a long time user, always though I loved it until I found this wonderful place.

All of that is just mental bull crap in your head bud. In time, you will see that you didn't likeep it as you thought you did.

Congrats on your quit. One day at a time. Post roll and make some friends.
Jenny and Tom Kern

RIP My Brother!

So I see that WV posted roll right the first time. That's great. Now copy your first post in rubbers intro and start your own intro and use it to track your journey. After you've been quit for a longer time it's easy to forget som details that help in remembering why we quit, how difficult it was at times and why we don't want to repeat the process.

Mittens I see that your first attempt to post roll was a little confusing. That's not uncommon, it can be confusing especially when we are in the fog of withdrawal. Keep on trying the others will help you get it right and soon it will be a natural part of your daily routine. The main thing just keep nicotine out of your system.

It is awesome to see two new quitters on this thread who want to take their lives back from nicotine!!

WV - I had never joined any boards before either. Don't worry, its not that hard, you will make some mistakes, and people will help you fix them.

Here is the link for roll call instructions: single/?p=109093t=1003072.

You will be in the February 2016 quit group.

Both you guys can do this! Don't be afraid. You are not alone here.

CJ
WV - welcome! Listen to CJ! He gave you great advice. Read those links and post roll. You can do this!

So this is first time I have ever posted to anything, but here it goes. I have been wanting to quit for along time but I guess not bad enough. I hid it from everyone which never works out over the long run. On my last two visit back with my family, who I only see about once or twice a year, I was going to bed early, taking "naps", and crapping for an hour just to get a dip. I was losing time b/c of it. Well with all that said, I got sick about a week ago (in which I lose my desire for anything) I knew it would be a great place to start. my last dip was the evening before I got sick so the 22nd is my quit date. The upper respiratory infection is now gone, and the side-effects are beginning, and holy crap I don't know which are worse. I've been waking up at 2am, 3am, 4am, 5am, every night. In the last day I have had approx 6 sores in my mouth which I hope are normal from what I've read on here. I know the site has groups to join, and I hoping that someone who knows where to point me can help. I have never joined a forum before and I have no idea how to

Welcome mittens! You're on the right track... 7 days is a hell of a lot more then I ever got on my own. This stuff can really have a pull, both physical and psychological. I don't think all the time and energy expended to get a fix is understood until we quit. I remember tapping my pockets for the first couple months, checking for a ghost can. 'Crazy' Filling that time and expending that energy with healthy alternatives is a key to long term success. It's all right here. Some days that pull is weak but there are some days it's a real sob. Those are the days this place kicks in. By taking the next step, you guarantee continued success. Daily commitment unlocks the final shackle!

Welcome! We overcome the mental part by posting roll as soon as we wake up every day. Roll is your promise to not use nicotine for the next 24 hours - it takes nicotine off the table for the entire day. Wake up and repeat the next day - we quit one day at a time (ODAAT).

I believe by your quit date you would be in the February group here...

February 2016 quit group

Post early and often and you will find all the support that you will ever need here at KTC.

I quit with you today!
