Mark, I tried the old tin with beef jerky idea as well just because I thought maybe it might fool my brain, but honestly all it did was make me think about dip even more because I had the can but knew what was in it! I find that LOTS of sunflower seeds work best for me....but everyone is different. Congrats on making it this far, just focus on today! You can kick this nic bitch!

x2.

I had to get as far away from the can as possible. Seeds were my lifesaver.

Go around to all your hiding spots and get rid of those cans. Right now it's not hard to resist the urges, but there will come a time that you won't be as strong.

Thanks for the support guys, this morning without a wake up chew was not bad at all for me, I actually found a half a can laying on the sofa arm this morning looked at it smirked and dumped it in the toilet. My plan was to use a food processor to grind some beef jerky up and put it in some empty tins I had laying around, but I never got around to it.. may do that tonight.. oh well as long as I dont yell at my employees or customer today and the wife tonight all will be good...
The Jerky is a good idea, but I am not sure I would use an old tin you have laying around. If it were me, I would take every one of those old tins and throw them away. Way way far away. I personally, would not want to have a relapse and be licking the bottom of a can. Again that is just me do as you wish, but I know your a 20 year addict like me, I know I am not that strong, or I may be and dont want to find out!

Hi Folks,

As of 20 Minutes ago I consider myself a can killer as I stomped the half full can in my driveway. The can has been dicating my life for 24 years, I quit once for a year. Just today I ordered nicotine patches through my work and set a date for April 8th to quit. And after some thought I decided just to quit... figuring patches were just another vessel to keep "Nicotine" in my body. And hat would mean I not be quitting for another 8 weeks cause technically you havent quit if you still have nicotine? Right? So tomorrow I will post my first role call since I feel today it would not be fair since I have dipped today... I look forward to hanging out with you folks.

Mark
Mark, Welcome! I have only been quit for a week, but I feel better about myself just knowing that I am dedicated to the quit. I am fairly new to being quit, so we will be going through the same temptations and shitty times together. pm me for my number, lets quit together!

Good for you Houston. Get involved and your quit will be alot easier to handle. Proud to see you helping out another brother.

Gladiator is one of my favorite movies so +1. Nicotine patches = -1. This is a no nicotine website. We do it cold turkey here. Grab your sack and hang on for the ride or in other words...embrace the suck. Click the welcome center link at the top and read what we are about. You need a number I'm just a pm away.

Welcome Mark,

Congrats on your decision to quit. This site works if you are committed to your quit and helping your quit brothers. I'm looking forward to seeing you post in our June group. Meanwhile, read as much as you can the next few days. They'll be tough. PM me if you need anything.
