Hi I am Bryon,

I have chewed since I was 13.  I am now 44 years old and have decided to quit.  I tried the NRT for several weeks and stop using it two days ago.  First two days without nicotine 'bang head' working through it
Welcome. NRTs don't do anything except prolong the withdrawl effects and keep you addicted to nicotine. Read. Read. And then read some more. This is going to suck for a bit, but you weren't born with dip in your face so you can be without it now.
Evil_one speaks the truth.

Welcome to the quit. You're doing it right..... just muscle through it.

Reach out via PM if you need anything at all.

Hey brothr... welcome to KTC. Did you get in and post roll today? I was looking at the Dec Quit page  did not see your name in there. Go up to the welcome center above and read how/why we post roll. This is the most critical thing you can do today. Posting roll is your commitment to quitting today  joining the rest of the folks on this site that did the same thing today. We quit one day at a time. Good job tossing the NRT paraphernalia... that stuff just keeps you hooked  under the thumb of Big Tobacco. Got to go cold turkey. It is the only way. You got this. Quit with you today.

Hey Byron - I also chewed for about 30 years, and have been quit since last January. Now that you're really quit, stay away from the NRT. Instead use jolly ranchers, gum, sunflower seeds, and fake/herbal chew for a while.

Read around this site, tons of good info here. Learn how to post roll in the December 2013 group and do so every damn day. Also try out the Live Chat, that's a great place to meet other quitters, get some phone numbers, and provides a great distraction during those tough cravings.

Quit with you today Byron. Hang tough thru these first days, it does get better. If you need a phone number just shoot me a private message where you see "Inbox" in the upper-right ish.

Rick

Also... Wrap your head this... 1 more day and the nicotine is gone from your system. 72 hours. That's all it takes to be physically clean. Immerse yourself in this site and the brotherhood/community it represents ~ it'll save your life, keep you clean, and give you a support system that is second to none. Welcome to freedom bro... It's pretty damn cool.
Well, it’s one louder, isn’t it? It’s not ten.
