Hi Brian,

33 years old and a 16 year Cope Straight addict here. So if you need anything just reach out. The people on here are awesome and will definitely help you out. I'm on day 8 so just keep reading, posting, and stay committed. Once you join this site you pretty much have to.

Congrats on the best decision of your life!! I'm proud to quit with you.

Hey!

Glad to see you here! I'm 30 years old too, and had dipped for 13 years, so we're pretty similar in those respects. You've made a great decision to quit, and you'll find that the people here genuinely care and want you to succeed, myself included! Read everything you can here, get involved with your group, and you'll have everything you need to fight nicotine. Also, don't forget to make a list of reasons why you want quit and stay quit. It's a great thing to be able to look at when a crave hits.

Things will get better. A LOT better.

I'm not even sure if I'm posting this in the right place but here goes. I got married and turned 30 last month (June 2015). I've dipped Copenhagen for 15 years, have said I'll quit at several different life events (HS graduation, College graduation, marriage, etc). Recent minor health issues have shown me the light on how dumb this addiction is so today I've said ENOUGH. I've never REALLY tried to quit because I've never really wanted to but today is different. All of the articles on here have been encouraging and frightening all at the same time. Anyhow, I will resist the urge to ramble along. I'm excited, scared, nervous, anxious and curious to start this journey. Let's get it.

Brian

What's up Brian! Hey man today is my first day posting, first day in roll call. I quit Easter April 5, 2015. I chewed Copenhagen for forty years. I remember trying to quit on my daughters 3d birthday. I made it a week. She is now eight. I'm now about almost 100 days- which is everything and nothing. Give me a call or message me. I know you can crush this.
“There's an important phrase that we use here, and think it's time that you all learned it. Act as if. You understand what that means? Act as if you are the fucking President of this firm. Act as if you got a 9" cock. Okay? Act as if.”

“That’s what I love about these fresh new quitters, man. I get older, they stay the same age.”

“I hold a beast, an angel and a madman in me, and my enquiry is as to their working, and my problem is their subjugation and victory, downthrow and upheaval, and my effort is their self-expression.”

King and User,

Finally think I figured out how to reply on this. I've never been a part of an online community, message board, etc. haven't figured out how to do the roll call thing yet but I'm with y'all. I'm about to go play my first round of "dip-free" golf today in probably my entire life.

Glad to be in this with you guys. Let's get it.

Hey Brian, glad to have you aboard. I'm brand new here so take this for what it's worth, but everything I've read here tells me this: "chew never made a single situation better." The only thing it does is make the withdrawals go away. I don't know that I've fully grasped that yet, but I am almost positive that it fits what you're saying here. Let's do this Brian.

Hey fellas, we are all three in the same quit group. You two seem to share the same mindset as I have, so we are on the same page. This is a serious decision and a serious moment in our lives. Let's stay in touch, it has helped me so far. I'm 8 days in, and it already feels like a month. It's a steep climb that levels out, we can hang tough long enough to get there. See you around.

"Fuck nicotine dude. You don't need it. And you don't want it. It didn't do a thing for you and you know it." - worktowin
"today you dissided that shit wont control your life. and it wont. unless you let it." - drome
"Not thinking about nicotine is for people who've never used nicotine. We threw that option away with the first dip or drag on a cigarette. We are addicts, and cannot become un-addicted." - wildirish317

We are always at risk. And probably always will be. That is why I will never get "too quit" to post my +1. Every. Damn. Day. - geis2597
