Quote from: ChristopherJSome days I cant believe how grateful I feel for stumbling onto KTC and becoming part of the RANT (Dec 14). On Friday I visited our Louisville operation (about 2 hours from me). On the way out of the gate, I checked my gas for the drive and saw I needed to fill up. There is a gas station right before the highway and every time I have driven to our Louisville plant for the past 16 years, I have stopped at that place to buy dip. It felt so good to pull onto the road nicotine free, knowing I have the support from my KTC family. Thanks for the freedom! CJ
As you move further away from day 1 and freedom becomes your norm... You'll think back in utter disbelief at the slavery you allowed for so many years. Freedom... It keeps getting sweeter bro!
Keep rocking that quit and check your inbox for additional accountability.
This is great - to let the good times in, notice them, share them. It's a big part of healing. You are doing great, and it's such an honor to be there with you. All of us ROCK that are doing this quitting thing- thanks for being all in!
Chris, this site plus all the personalities and tools saved my life.
Looks like it's gonna save your life too. Just let it happen ODAAT.
Keeping my jaw and tongue...I like them.
It's poison I tell ya, You wouldn't drink Liquid Drano, would ya?

Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's not ten.

This is so much more that just throwing your name on a list, it is placing your word or promise that you will not use nicotine and it should be done everyday. - MCarmo44

What a great start to Christmas Day... Welcome to the Hall of Fame sir! 100 days ago you were a slave, but by using the tools and being a man that really grasps brotherhood  accountability, today will be a Christmas that you will never forget. Thank you for including so many of us in your journey - as along the way you have strengthened us as well!

Today is just the beginning. It gets so much better from here that it cannot even be put into words. Keep doing what you are doing, and santa will have many more gifts for you in the days ahead. Today I'll raise a glass of baileys in your honor. Go Bengals!

Quote from: ChristopherJI just passed the halfway point to HOF (day 54 today) and I thought I'd give an update.

I was slow to embrace the KTC community, aside from posting roll and responding to PMs from people who reached out to me. Reading the incredible amount of helpful information on this site, coupled with my daily promise, provided me a shield in my battle against nicotine addiction. It took a while, but I've learned by watching others on this site, that I really needed to do more. I've reached out to strangers offering my help, commented on posts that I found inspiring or troubling, and taken the time to support other people who are trying, just like me, to fight their way through this, one day at a time. I've even joined a text group with some good people from other months here at KTC. These are all building blocks.

Recently, one of the guys in December shared a heartwarming story about how he sat down with his wife and showed her the KTC site. This inspired me to do the same thing. I was a ninja dipper for many years, and I approached my quit the same way - no one knew about it except my KTC community. Last night after dinner I finally told my wife about my quit. She was surprised, but mostly happy and relieved. She couldn't believe that I sought out support. She said she was proud of me, which is always good for a man to hear from the woman he loves. I explained the site and the intros, and even the fact that I had reached out to a couple of people from other groups starting their quits. This really blew her away because it's very unlike me.

I am savoring the freedom! ODAAT

Chris
Shedding your former lying nic-fiend shell feels good don't it? Now you are you, and you are free. Congratulations.
Grizz is spot on. I showed my wife the KTC site 2 weeks in, on Christmas morning. It was at that point I felt like the double life I was living was cast aside and I got to become the person I was supposed to be. That was one of the most, if not the most liberating experiences of my quit. Congratulations CJ.
Bad ass. Took me 300 days. Today is a proud day for you.

Quit with you today!
Great story. I love being open and honest with my family again. Getting involved here definitely helps others, but more importantly it will help to solidify your quit. If you are posting here every day and stop for a few days. It definitely gets noticed. Accountability is what this site is all about. Congrats on 50. The quitter you are today is nothing like the user who came to this site 50 days ago.
Great stuff. When you no longer hide... You will truly be free. Well done!
Layers and layers of freedom to learn about and enjoy! I love it! thanks for sharing so we can all celebrate too!
