Im now at day 31 - Wow that kind of flew by to be honest.
I've put on about 10 pounds or so and i am now addicted to Sunflower seeds 'crackup'

Other then that i have felt pretty dam good and it really has been going pretty smooth for me. I chewed Skoal and Copy for over 7000 days of my life so i dont expect too much here in the first 31 without it but i am happy and very proud of myself.

Oh yeah and i get to see my wife's gorgeous boobies a lot more often now 'boob' 'archer'
Nice work!

Be careful though. Life tends to throw a few wrenches in the gears.

P.S. Boobs are sweet!

outstanding decision to quit my friend... welcome to the rest of your life!

i'd question one statement that you made here though...

Im going cold turkey because it has worked for me in the past.
not to be a dick, but it has not worked in the past (otherwise you wouldn't be posting day 1 ;) ) that aside, it looks like the important thing is to figure out how you're going to make THIS quit your LAST quit. here's my personal plan that i've used for the last 700+ days... welcome aboard!

chewie's 3 step cave plan

step 1: take picture of son out of wallet. look my son in the face and tell him that i love dip more than i love him.

step 2: take out killthecan.org business card, read the words and REALIZE that i'm letting each and every one of YOU down.

step 3: call each of the 60+ killthecan.org phone numbers that i've got in my phone and get PERMISSION from each and every person to have a dip.

P.S.: i've never had to go past step 1
You're right Chewie i guess it didnt work for me in the past but it is going to work this time!!!
I have a 2 month old daughter that i promised i was going to quit for good this time. This is my first child so what an inspiration to quit!!!! [/QUOTE]
While it's fine to quit for the kids, you gotta quit for YOU and only YOU, because only YOU can do it. Now get it done. B)

Hi, my name is Ben and i have been chewing for 20 years. I have quit at least 5 times with my last time being the longest - i made it a year and then i was weak at a Toby Keith concert and thought i would just have one and chuck the can but we all know how that goes. So this time i want to make it for real and be true and honest to myself that i can never have another pinch of chew. My quit date is today August 11th. Im going cold turkey because it has worked for me in the past.
Wish me luck and im sure i will talk to many of you soon.

Ben,

To paraphrase Toby: You ain't as good as you once was! ;)

You've been there before, so you know what you need to do. Connections can make a big difference. Best of luck!
