Exnuke, way to go you're doin' it. Day 3 to be honest was a warped nightmare for me. But then again so was Day 6. Day 8 is starting out good so far. But you never know how intense the day is going get. I quit with you today. We will grind it out together.

I was totally against fake in the beginning.. In the middle of a fog, I started using it to get me through the day.. didn't last very long, and the cravings subsided.. Point is do whatever it takes to stay quitÂ… have some fake around for emergencies.. it saved me a couple times, and i'm glad I had it at that time.. peace

I picked up some Smoky Mountain Wintergreen this evening, simply because I was nervous about the weekend. Strangely, it has worked amazingly for me, much better than Fireballs, coffee stirs, and pens. Even though I know it is nicotine free, I still feel guilty, why is that?

On top of that, has anybody else used SMC? Do you have to get past that as well? If so, I may as well throw that away too...

Have a great dip free weekend!

Some have used it and others have not, the most important thing, if it helps keep nicotine out of your mouth then do not worry about it. I used it to fight cravings for 8 or so months. Still keep some around for a safety net. Bottom line whatever works to keep you nicotine free.
I used fake for my first 80 days or so. The Hooch variety for the most part.

I looked at quitting as 2 pronged.

First I had to get and keep the nicotine out of my system to quit the addiction. This was the main goal. To keep poison out of my body and give it time to heal. So for this I did what ever it took and used what ever else I could.

The Second was the habit of the oral fixation for having something in my lip constantly for 23 years. Ok here was the slower going as I handled this after feeling like I did not need the dip/nicotine. So I used the fake. I changed it up and did not use it all the time but only for craves. But like mentioned one day in my 70 range I felt like I no longer needed it, and since there is no chemical dependency, I used less and less to where now I only have it on hand for the worst case scenarios.

So use it or not it is your choice, but remember to tell yourself that it is not the same and that you are using it as a tool to quit. This way consciously you know that it is different. And in time you won't need it anymore either.

I used the fake for about 40 days.  It really helped the first 2 or 3 weeks.  I trashed it with no problem.  You can't get addicted to herbs.

Your doing great brother.  Do what you mush.  Stay quit, that's your goal right now!  Glad to be quit with you.
Thanks guys, as I wake up this morning I find that there is really no desire for the fake chew. I must have just been nervous about the weekend.

Thanks again, have a good weekend.

The poison sucks. I hate it. I hated it this morning, I hated it at noon, I hated it at supper and I hate it tonight. I enjoy hating it so much I'm going to wake up tomorrow and start over hating it. I quit with anyone that wants to hate it with me.
