Im glad you took a good long look at it and decided now was the time. No matter when you did it there were / are going to be side effects. I would rather have them now while I am cancer free then trying to give it up after cancer has set it on me.

Post roll and exchange digits.
Thats definitely a good way of looking at it. Might as well get through the withdrawal now..

Day 2 and been having some craves, nothing too bad. I'm definitely thinking about getting some alternative snuff or something, or maybe some gum.

If I could I would. If I don't, it's because I am lazy.

Hey everyone, new here. Just turned 22 about 10 days ago. For sake of simplicity with math, lets just say I started smoking the day I turned 18. Used a vape to quit smoking for a while, then it turned to vaping inside the house, and smoking outside. Eventually got hooked on dipping since my job became a smoke free place. Grizzly mint and cope longcut straight. For the last 10 months or so I've been on General Snus mint. Crazy how in perspective, i've been "on" nicotine for 4 years... I'd hate to see that turn in to 5, or 10. My main immediate concern is studying. EE major and I'd hate if I would not be able to focus on studying. Not looking forward to the fog.

Technically, and officially.. Day 1 today 9/17/15. Glad to be here.
You might find it hard to concentrate the first week or so, and probably be jittery.

Get up and walk around for a bit. Just accept that you'll be a little off for a few days.
Einstein didn't chew. Nor did Escher.

It seems in your head right now like you need it to focus or make you better. One day at a time, by giving your word and keeping it, I promise that you will see the truth. You can do this.
What I meant was, I've kinda been putting off quitting because I was afraid of the withdrawal symptoms that will come with it. I definitely don't think it makes me better. I hate that I am/was dependent on it, and I hate that nicotine would control my emotions.

Thanks all for your words.

Glad to have you here!

Now you see why replacing nicotine with nicotine doesn't work. What does work, however, is the system we have going on the site. Show up every day, post roll and honor your word, and repeat. If you truly hate nicotine and are ready to quit, if your word has any sort of value to it at all, and if you get involved with the community here, you'll do just fine. If just one of those things is not happening, though, that's enough to make this a lot harder than it needs to be, if not impossible. The site works on accountability, and if you're not here nor does anyone know you, then accountability can't exist. I'm not saying that's going to be you, I'm just really trying to stress that involvement with the site is key.

Happy belated birthday, congratulations on the best decision you've made, and I'm glad to be quit with you today!

Howdy. They say the pen is mightier than the sword, and I'm a writer who collects pokey things. Basically you're boned either way.
