There are no circumstances in which using nicotine will improve the outcome.

My journey. The best part it is not over yet.

Welcome Matt,
Congrats on learning how to post roll. Your in a great group, with some strong monkey quiters. I hope you are reading in May, they are going through some good stuff. Exchange some numbers and stay involved.
Next time you have a chance give us a little background on yourself here in the intro page.
Quit with you today.

It looks like he did post a seperate Intro yesterday......

Matt....you should be in the May Quit Group....if you have questions / comments / observations - post them on the May Quit Group Page (same place you post roll).....that way you can better interact with your quit group and get to know those guys a bit more.....i'm sure if you post this in May, you'd have a dozen responses by now..........

So I have to be at work at 8:30 which is a 5 minute drive and got out of shower at 8:00. The first thing I did after getting out of shower was to calculate that I had to leave in 20 minutes and suddenly realized I was doing that to see if I had enough time for a dip.

I caught myself doing it immediately and didn't cave or stress about it other than to get mad as shit that that is how my brain is wired now and forever. I just tell this to show how nasty this garbage is and how the stupidest little things in our lives are associated with chew. On day 3 and know it's about to get rough but I feel stronger than ever about my quit...
Matt...your mind will being playing wierd little tricks on you for a while....i'm at day 57 and the bitch still stalks me

couple words of advise
**make sure you have no dip in the house or car....do a thorough sweep of everything - house / garage / car / work.....when those craving come, and they will come on pretty frickin strong, just make sure your prepared with digits / gum / hard candy or what ever works for you

**if you haven't done so already - limit or cut out alcohol....especially with the weekend coming....alcohol will do nothing for you other that tear down your defenses.....many a quitter has caved because they got loaded and stupid after drinking too much....don't be that guy

Keep reading and posting....it does help......stay quit!

Matt - I'm glad you've made this decision to free yourself from nicotine. Make sure you get over to the Welcome Center and check out all of the threads there. Also, get over to your Quit Group (May 2015) and post roll, if you haven't already. And then make it a priority to post roll first thing every morning. It is your promise to yourself and to this community that you will not use nicotine that day. It's something to grab ahold of when the cravings hit. And they will, believe me.

Also - a couple of housekeeping items, in case you are not aware. We don't 'try' or 'hope' around here - we just quit. Period. And that is from nicotine in all forms - so if you're using nic gum, patches, lozenges or another cheat, get rid of it and be quit. Fake dip like Smokey Mountain or Jake's or any of the others are fine, if it helps you get through the day. But they must be 100% tobacco and nicotine free.

I quit with you today, brother. Shoot me a PM if I can help.
Thanks bro...I've quit more times than I care to count and this is Not a try. I quit for 270 days 3 years ago and let my guard down....f'ing stupid but I know better now. Glad to be in your class bro and to have found this site

Welcome, Matt! You will be thanking yourself you made the plunge. Embrace the suck. Post roll EDD (every dang day). Drink plenty of water. If you can walk past a restroom and not have to take a leak, you aren't drinking enough water. It will help with the symptoms. Proud to quit with you today!

Welcome. Make yourself at home here. Reach out via PM to some of us if you have questions.

Don't let your guard down. Those days that you feel great are dangerous. Enjoy them, but don't let that bad day catch you off guard when it gets here.
