sk8rx,
Congrats!!! I dipped for 20 years...can a day for many of those years. I started in highschool baseball and I quit 12 days ago. I am by no means out of "the fog" but I wanted to encourage you anyway. You can beat this!!!
The first four days were BRUTAL. The next 8 weren't easy, but a little better. Yesterday (day 11) was the first day I realized I didn't think about it all day, just most of the day. At the worst times (headache and cravings, etc) I just focus on the positives...that feeling will go away, but I'm free of nicotine and I'm not going back.
Don't know where I saw it on here, but somebody said (forgive me if I butcher the quote) he described the length of his quit as "quit + 1"...that is, the number of days is insignificant. The important thing is that you got through yesterday without nic, and that you pledge to do it again today. I think that is an accurate way to look at it. Don't worry about forever, two weeks ago or whatever. The important thing is that you put yesterday to bed dip free and you're going to do it again today.
Stay focussed, try to pay attention to how bad the first few days are...use that as motivation to NEVER give in or you have to go through that again!! Find you Quit Group...ours is December 2010. Just check in for roll call (I thought it was BS at first, but it really helps you stay accountable...plus, there are plenty of folks to email for support or whatever.)
But the main thing is you're free, you'll beat this, and your kids will have you around for many years to come!!!
