Thanks all now on day 25 still Nic free, been real sick with bad cold and sinus infection which added to my anxiety but i came to this site everyday and kept away from the nic bitch, 1 day at a time we all will beat this addiction.
Great job. Remember, the flu is one problem. Using nicotine while having the flu is two problems. You got this!

Way to go, Stephen, on 22 days. I don't know how you did yhat without support. No need to white knuckle it anymore, though, when there is a place like this. We're all in it together! Shoot me a PM if you want to exchange numbers.

I will do my best to keep my daily roll calls going. I WILL NOT USE TOBACCO AGAIN

Semper Fi
A 22 day quit on your own .. yeah that takes a Marine . . that's bad ass.

Having said that, the daily roll isn't considered optional around here. It's kind of Rule #1.

If you can't get to a computer, let someone know . . swap digits, etc.

I joined the site at day 40 and I'm still here today at 161. I sent you a PM last week with my digits so if you're ever at a crossroads and don't know which way to go, please text me so I may point you in the right direction away from the Nic. I quit with you today.

Thanks all, places like this are a big help, especially to my psyche. I went to the Doctor this week as I was overdue for a checkup and being 43 figured it was time. On top of a sinus infection she prescribed me Zoloft for the anxiety. My problem is it takes up to 4 weeks to see any benefit from it. That would put me at almost 50 days and I don't know if I want to even start with it. Has anyone ever used Zoloft to get through the anxiety issues.

It really just feels like my brain is constantly moving, cant sit still for long and have to constantly be moving, concentration sucks most of the day. I guess this is my brain repairing itself. I have been through Marine Corps Boot Camp and I would do that 100 times before I would want to go through this shit ever again. I just keep telling myself in the end I will be that much better off.

Well that was a good distraction back to work
Hey bud, I'm not a doctor but would like to share my struggle with anxiety. I just sent you pm. Mine didn't last that long.
I believe.....

A couple of pieces of advice I would give, on top of the great advice you've already been given:

1. You don't have a "habit", and using dip is not one such "habit". Picking your nose in public is a habit. Using nicotine is an addiction, one you could have walked away from more easily if it were just a habit. That simple change in words make this much more important that you quit.
2. Always be on roll first thing in the morning. It takes nicotine off he table immediately for the rest of the day. You are a man of your word, so far as I can tell, and your word will remain unsullied if you keep it everyday.
3. Get to know your brothers. This place is not boot camp, but you will develop friendships here that will become so vital to who you are. Reach out, and if you need digits, mine are a PM away.

Quit on.

Stephen welcome. Quitting dip is a weird roller coaster. But on day 22 you have definitely gotten past the first big dip. While I don't want to play psychiatrist with you my best guess is the anxiety is caused by your addicted self trying desperately to get you to feed the addiction. Believe me when I tell you, no 10 days of my quit have been the same, I've been quit for a year and a half, and my quit is always evolving. So my advice is if you don't like where you are at, hunker down and give it 10 days. My guess is things will be different. Bayou got this.

Congrats on making a great choice, SB. 22 days on your own is huge. Let us help you the rest of the way. Learn how and why we post roll. Then do it. Mutual accountability is the key.

Remember, we take it ONE DAY AT A TIME. I like your claim that you will not use tobacco again. But quitting forever is as hard as Chinese math. That's why we don't do that here. All we do here is give our word by posting roll that we won't use tobacco TODAY. And we keep our word...period.

Nobody can change the past, and the future isn't here yet. So don't worry about them. All you can control is today. We'll deal with the rest when it gets here. Cut quitting down to a size you can handle and you can kick the Nic Bitch's ass ONE DAY AT A TIME.

You got this!
Good job. Things will probably improve very very soon. Hang tough.
