Welcome donewithit!  Best decision you ever made!

I can relate, my 3 year old would ask me what I have in my mouth.  And I would lie to him and tell him it was gum...then he would ask me to chew different gum, because he doesn't like the gum I'm chewing.  It's heartbreaking.  Use that fuel for your quit.

Hang in there for the first week or two!  It's bad, but it gets soooo much better.  I'm on day 34 and I am starting to feel absolutely fantastic.  There's definitely a light at the end of the tunnel.

Grab some numbers from people in your quit group, and get involved on the site.  READ EVERYTHING.  It helps!

Good luck!  Way to be done with it!
Keep on going

I am on day 10 and it is still hard during the day when you would drop a chew in like clock work and your brain and mouth asking for a nice fat chew. You will make it through the day if talk to friend or family and take you mind off the chew that you miss so much. 'drool'

I can talk all day about a 20 year habit

I have quit a couple of times over the 20 years

I think the longest quit time was 1 year and all it took was one dip to take you back to you old ways.

good luck

I am never going back to chew again.
right there with you...the breaking point for me was my 10 year old telling me that i wasn't being a good influence on him...i want to be with my boys for as long as God wants me too, i will not risk that for the nic bitch ever again..i'm day 38 and i see this as the real me keep the quit
Go Bucks! Quit Date: 12-23-2011

Quit-3 Days in so far..
« on: August 22, 2009, 01:45:00 PM »
I decided to quit chewing 3 days ago. Im so done with it. That's how I came up with the screen name Donewithit

Im 36 years old....Father of 3. My yougest will start kindergarten in 2 days. My oldest knows what Im doing with the stuff in the green can. He has told me to quit before. I should have long ago.

I don't have sores in my mouth but I unfortunately have reseding gums. I also have a couple cavitys that are not directly caused by chewing, but I know it did not help. Sometimes I have what feels like panic attacks...Probably due to the chewing as well...

So Im on Day 3...Looking forward to tomorrow so I can call it Day 4...

But anyway, just wanted to say Hi. And that " Im Done With It" !!
