Hey there Marine,

There is no reason to be sad about being Quit. In fact, you're looking at this all the wrong way. You just made the best decision of your life! You need to be looking at all the postives that come with Quitting. This is nothing to mourn.

You will never regret Quitting. Not once, not ever. You may have craves, you may have dip dreams (Hell, I had one last night) but you will never ever regret it.

Stay strong. Reach out if you need to. There are a shit-ton of us Jarheads here. Get some numbers, and find a Quit buddy.

I see you've made some comments about not having a lot of time, and posting later in the day. That's un-sat. When you were dipping, I know you would make time for it. You'd get up early if you had to to have a dip. Or stay up later than you wanted to. Or drive an extra 20 miles to find a store that had your brand. You need to look at your Quit the same way. There is nothing that gets in my way when it comes to Quitting. Not one damned thing.

Get in the right mindset, or you're going to struggle and fail. There is no excuse for failing.

Hit me up if you need a phone number or if you need anything.

Well Gents, I am new here but i would like to say i'm done with dip as of 2 days ago. And let me tell you that ive had withdrawals. But with the recent events that have happened to my lip aka one part of it doesnt feel normal, may be gator lip but it opened my eyes after a year of dipping to quit, Fuck slowing down and doing it less, None in general. Exepct that part where killthecan.org offers some alternatives which i planned on using to help some bit.
Hey Kloops, welcome brother. You made the right choice to do it now after a year, and I firmly believe that quitting all at once is the best method. Slowing it down just makes the pain last longer. A few things to help you in your quit:

1. Your title is "Sadly done." My man, there is nothing sad about it. Dip is killing you slowly.. first it's your lip but then it's your tongue, maybe your jaw, hell could get your entire throat eventually. You're taking back your life from the addiction. Learn to hate dip, because trust me it didn't do jack for you.

2. KTC doesn't directly offer alternatives, but they do have reviews of some good stuff. Some of my favorite were "Grinds" which are pouches of flavored coffee grinds. Gave me a caffeine buzz and let me put something in my lip when I needed that.

3. We quit here every day, one day at a time. Head over and post roll — that's your promise every morning that you won't use nicotine in ANY form (no cigs, no patches, no gum, nothin) for the next 24 hours. Don't worry about 2 years down the line, just think about today. You'll post in May: topic/10927055/19/#new

And here is an explanation on how to post roll: topic/1003072/1/#new
What this ^^^ Bad-Ass-Quitter said! Keep reading, in fact READ EVERYTHING ON KTC! All the knowledge you need to quit is right here. Learn the plan. Live the plan. The plan works! Hard assed fight, but you can do this, and it is so worth the effort.
I second and 3rd what these fine quitters have said. Nothing to be sad about, and in a week or so you'll see what we mean. Best decision I have made in 12 years or so was to quit tobacco with no excuses. Join us.
You're getting great advice here. Quitting has been one of the hardest things I've ever done. It's also been easier than I thought it would be. You just have to get your mind right. That's where KTC comes in. First focusing on quitting one day at a time, making a promise to thousands of quitters every time you post roll, adding accountability. And finally coming to the understanding that I am an addict to a drug. And just like a heroin or crack addict my mind will come up with all sorts of stimulus and logic that will tell me to put a dip in my mouth. Realizing that for what it is...addict talk, has helped me stave off crave after crave. Stay close to this site, and you can break the yoke too. Good luck.
Post roll every day and focus on being quit for that day only. This is the key. Read up, post roll and let's get started.

Question. What if your lip feels better next week....you going to go back to the can? Think that question thru because when you stop throwing garbage in your mouth... It will. You have to want this beyond a lip issue because your resolve will be tested. If you have your head on right... You can get thru it.

You are making a great decision. You can do it. Welcome.

"Post roll. Post more if you want to. That's the beauty of the place: We ask you post roll. We ask you to be honest. That's all. No more. No less. Be there for your brothers and ask for help when you need it." - Wastepanel 10/6/14

"What would you do to save your own life? If you were fighting cancer today would you suffer through Chemo, surgeries, try new a therapy? change your diet, go to church? What intolerable hell would you endure to simply live. When you have thought long and hard about that, think on this. Why not apply that attitude to your quit. Suffer through the temporary discomfort of withdrawal to achieve your freedom from a slow painful demise via nicotine. Your in the ring already- fight like you mean it." - Skoal Monster 10/8/14
