If i sign the roll call, that means I give my word I won't use dip AND nicotine right?

I was planning on using patches to assist the quit, is that ok or should I work out a new plan?

I am currently most concerned with not dipping ever again, i'm cool with a patch for a little while.

Please tell me if I am messed up, screwing up, or if I am posting wrong...total nub here.

Thanks to all.

Dear Readers,

Call me Shocker. Thats what the fellas call me on the boat. I've been in the Navy about 8 years, been dipping since 2002. The Submarine fleet is a wonderful place to be (in my opinion) and there is nothing better than a big'ol lipper while turning some wrenches (i'm a mechanic). However, I am a brand new father. My first child ( a boy) is 4 months old and I ... WANT TO QUIT!

But, dude, it is friggin' rough. I have stopped for months at a time before, but always picked it back up as soon as we came back home. Now i'm on shore duty, first kid, it is time to QUIT.

My plan is New Years day, I'm planning on quitting cold turkey, because thats how I roll. But because I already know how I do without dip for 8 weeks I am posting on here.

Sooooooooo... wish me luck, and let me know if you are in the same ballpark.

Your gonna get some info here real shortly. Understand they are trying to help.

Having said that, can you tell me why it will be easier to quit on New Years. I already know the answer. I have been where you are. I know what you are thinking.

Take it out of you lip. Throw it away. Take your can, empty it in the toilet, flush. Find you extra cans and fluch them down the toilet.

Go to April 2012 quit group and post roll call giving your word of honor that you will not use nicotine in any way, shape or form today.

Keep your word.

Period.

Anything else is just hot air.
