His question was if there were any side effects from quitting chantix early in a cycle. No one here can answer that question better than someone who quit early in the middle of a chantix cycle or the prescribing doctor.

I'm sure nothin will happen if he pretends he's a man and goes cold turkey and aid free like the rest of us. But telling him that doesn't answer his question.
Agreed, never just stop any medication like chantix without talking to your doctor. There is usually a weening off period.

My cousin has started taking that bullshit drug 4 different times now and quit in the middle everytime. The only side effects he told me about were WHILE he was taking it and that was very vivd dreams.

Dump that shit. People that it did work for, could have quit without it because they really WANTED to quit.

Everyone has it in them to quit cold turkey.

I used chantix the month before I actually quit. Chantix didn't work for me. Made me feel dumber than I am.

Dump the drugs, quit on your own. You will feel better cause you've earned it.

Quitting is worth it.

To be blunt, doctors don't know shit about quitting. He will most likely want you to continue.

Dump that shit, you don't need it.

Keep it up nbond but my advice, dump that chantix shit and forget about it. The lack of sleep has to do with the withdraw. I don't know if the Chantix makes that worse or not, I didn't take it, but I know I was sleeping maybe 3-4 hours a night starting around the second week.

Cold turkey is the way to go man. You're trying to get away from a drug so why rely on another one?

I am on day 10 of my quit and have found lots of support through this website.

I have been successful in my quit in part to Chantix, however, I know longer want to take it. I am not sleeping at night and I feel funny throughout the day. I know it is the Chantix and not the Nic-bitch anymore.

Has anyone been on Chantix and just stopped before completing the program? Did you suffer any side effects. I haven't taken the pill since yesterday morning and I don't really want to start back up.

Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks for all of the encouragement. I made it through yesterday.

I received a phone call that really helped from a man in Louisiana. I don't remember your name but I appreciate what you said. "Quit one day at a time" That is my new motto.

Souliman you have a way with words. Thanks and I plan on taking a swim at your pool today.

Now that is a great, if not the greatest thing I have read so far.

Truth at its purest. If one is stupid enough to go through all this trouble and fighting with their own body over a nasty addiction that rivals that of Heroin withdrawls, just to go back and start over again is just beyond stupid.

Thus some golden words, since they bear repeating....

Every minute you stay strong, is a minute you won't have to suffer ever again.

Day 3, good, we all remember the suck of day three. Look back on the last two days and Never do those two days again. And tomorrow, make those two days three. Really try to remember how this feels, so that when you feel better in a day or so and pass thru the fog, you know to never turn back. You wont be cured in a day or so, but trust me, it gets better. Your an addict, like the rest of us, and as soon as you really believe that deep in your heart, and drink the koolaid we are serving, you will begin the healing.

Remember, quit for today, I quit with you today. Every minute you stay strong, is a minute you won't have to suffer ever again.

Stay quit.

On day three now. Just woke up and I can't figure out what sucks more. Not sleeping at night or the f-ing feeling i have in my stomach.

I know I can do this because I want it but today seems like it could be the worst day so far.

My wife and family have been very supportive but none of them know what I am going through since none of them have ever been addicted.

I am going to need some encouragement today from people who have been through this. My name is Nick and my phone number is 419-545-0814.
Encouragement you say? Let me see if I can muster up a few words that would hold you over for the next 24 hours...

You are quit. Do me a favor and say that shit out loud. I'm serious. Don't fuck with me as I haven't had my second cup yet. Say that shit out loud "I QUIT". You got to hear those words from yourself. And say that shit like you are talking to your boss while you take a giant deuce on his desk. You've made a bold decision in doing this. You've said to yourself that you are worth more. That you have been under the control of a chemical and indirectly under the control of a bunch of fucks from a company that marketed poison in a can for profit. Shit. When I think about that makes we want to burn every fucking 7-11 down to the ground. I don't advocate chaos and wasting energy that way. I advocate applying that energy inward...look at yourself. Look at the things you missed and were conflicted by making the decision to "sneak off" to use versus being engaged with folks around you. So, this is getting your "will to live" back. Then, let's think about the "ability to live" aspect. The chain reaction that is cancer can be caused by a single exposure. Think about that. A single dip can put you down the path to having your tongue cut out, extended radiation therapy, long stays in the hospital and the experience of having your family at your bed side seeing you wither away. That's the big "end game" case. The smaller stuff include your blood pressure returning to normal, being able to taste food again, stabilization of your mood, liver and kidneys no longer being under constant stress, your stamina will increase. There are a whole bunch of things. Lastly, I leave you with this.

YOU GAVE YOUR WORD. You put down your name that you are quit today. That's to me, the folks in Feb 2011, and the rest of the folks here doing the same. If you want to tap out, concede, become "pussified" then get the fuck off my lawn now. I'm on life guard duty at the quit pool this morning and spineless whining about things being tough don't cut it while my friends are treading water on their way to quit nirvana. This is hard. This is not easy. You stuffed poison and cancer in your mouth for 8 years. You think this was going to be easy? You think they would make it easy? Now fight. No more whining. Engage in this fight. Avoid your triggers. Get out of your shell. Do things you didn't do with a dip. Be with people. You don't want to slip, don't go to slippery places. Fight.
