Agreed. I don't like it either, and I don't get the point of one cig a day. She doesn't want to quit, and that's not why she smokes one a day. She can literally do this without increasing the number she smokes per day.

How? Beats the hell out of me.

I will not be seduced into caving. My wife may be "smoking hot", but not when she's smoking.

Like I said below, I'm either all in or all out, and today I am all out. Today is all I can do.
good to hear.... My wife still smokes, much to my disdain, but I do not nag her about it! I remove myself from the area or politely ask her to move somewhere to smoke (outside).

The nicotine from her cigerrette smoke, still gives me headaches, starts the craving process all over and I seem to get a little more rage...Just a warning.

That being said, You now have no excuse to cave, and I expect you to be supportive and ready when/if your wife does decide to quit! Welcome and keep kicking ass!

The "one a day" plan sucks. You both gotta grow a pair (which will be awkward for her) and quit.

Seriously, you both need to embrace the suck. Commit to the quit will all of your mind, body and spirit. Post roll, one day at a time, and you can beat this.
quitting for her will be like her learning to walk wilth a pair of balls!

I like it. YOU can beat this, brother. As for your wife...uh, not sure what to say...but don't let her crazy-ass, half-baked, doomed to fail plan influence you.

Okay, seriously, I think alot of folks don't quit or delay quitting because they don't think they can do it. You can't nag anyone into quitting, but you can let them know that your support will help get them through it. Tell her that you believe in her (without criticizing). Then let her know we'd support her too...but not if she is doing the "one a day" nonsense. We believe in her...not that stupid plan.

Let me be clear...I am not on the "one a day plan" nor have I ever intended to be. My wife does not wish to quit her one smoke a day, and while I will continue to suggest and plead, and remind her of the consequences, I cannot make her do it.

I have posted in roll both yesterday (when I found the site) and today, have not caved, and have no intention to do that today. I'll worry about tomorrow tomorrow.

I am Quit. For right now, hear me whimper. In a few days, you may hear me roar.

I will ask if she wants to go that route. She smokes about 1 cig per day, maybe less. I can't do that at all - I'm either all in or all out. Right now I'm all out. I plan to stay that way today.

I hate that fucking Bear with a passion right now.
one cig a day? what's the fucking use of that??

Regardless, your Quit is the most important thing here. Glad you tossed the lozenges. If it's in your head that they are around it's only a matter of time before your eating them like tic-tacs.

PM me if I can be of any help.

Her smoking could be a relapse issue for you too. The two are you are a team and this is in the best interests for the family. You could both be supporting each other when the craves happen and be that much stronger. Glad some other posters agreed. Great way to start the new year with a healthier home.........Keep up the good work. We are here to support you.

She smokes occassionally? Both of you could be kicking the NIC habit and maybe stronger with each of you supporting each other. Talk to her about the two of you doing this together. Go team !!!!!!!

:D
Occasionally to me means once or twice a month. If you have to ask her to be discrete and to not ask you to go with her it sounds like she smokes regularly.

I like the team quitting idea. We do allow those quitting all forms of nicotine to post roll call with us. There have been plenty of smokers quit with us.

Immediately after reading bamadan's post. I went to the restroom here at the office and flushed the lozenges I have with me. My wife is home today, and I am asking her to get rid of the ones I have at home. She smokes occassionally, and I've told her she needs to not ask me to go outside with her and to be discrete about when she smokes. She said she would help.

I am going to the April 2011 post and hitting roll call for today. I will not dip today.
I am fucking honored to have you as my brother!
Well done. You have taken the first steps into the battle for your life. That's what it is. Are you free? or does nicotine have you as a slave?

Proud to be quit with you guys!
Nicotine will try to own me today and tomorrow - as it does everything to keep me from getting it all out of my system.

I ain't even going to offer it a lease...

No going back. Kodiak for too many years, far too often.
