Way to stay QUIT Swede!!! 'bang head'
When the going gets tough, remember you can do anything for 1 DAY! Sometimes I drink water and walk the floor to calm down the bitches' voice. It helps me. Anything to NOT put the POISON in MY mouth!!!
I quit with YOU today. Will worry about tomorrow if it comes.
Cheers!! 'zombie'

  • Interests: My wife and 2 young children keep me happy and busy most of the time but when I get a spare moment you can catch me in a historic area or park metal detecting or up on the river sluicing for some gold or with a fishing pole in my hand. I also like hunting, hiking, and anything else exciting or outdoors. I like all sports and recently got into volleyball.

BAD ASS Swede! I also had a tough weekend but I kept thinking of how far I have come and all the people that have helped me and I have hopefully helped. I consider us the lucky ones, a lot of people have probably never heard of this site and are still plugging away.

Take care man!

This weekend had to be one of the worst times so far in my quit! Issues kept coming up, one right after another and on top of this, the in-laws were staying with us this weekend! I had to entertain while my stress level was through the roof! And of course, I kept hearing the nic voice talking to me! This weekend was a tough weekend, but I kept strong and told the little voice in my head to 'Finger' !

I know I will have other weekends like this one, but it was a battle fighting the nic voice all weekend! I kept telling myself, things will get better and stayed busy! I also made sure my voice was louder than the nic voice! I was able to overcome the cravings and physiological mind games, but I am physically and mentally exhausted after this weekend!

I have come to two conclusions after this weekend:
1) After having a weekend like this, I can tell you my quit is even stronger.
2) It scares me to know, I will have more battles like this in the future!
The nic-bitch is a sneaky sneaky whore!!!!

She will whisper in your ear when everything seems to be going wrong and try to get you back in her clutches!!!

Way to stay strong, great job not giving into the temptation, you do realize that if you would have taken a chew nothing would have been better!!
That is a huge step for your quit brother!

Keep on keeping on!

Welcome Terry,
Glad you could make it today. It is good to see someone who wants to get their life back.
It is real simple to quit here:
Post roll. (promising you won't dip today)
Keep your word. (your word is good, right?)
Repeat next day. (post early in your a.m.)
I said it was simple, not easy. As a matter of fact (for me) it is hard as fuck. So we quit like fuck (QLF) one day at a time, around here.
It ain't no picnic. I am day 19 in the sept. quit group. I never dreamed I could "really" quit. But I am proof that it can be done.
There are many veteran brothers here who have quit before us. They are our inspiration and our accountablity officers, so to speak.
If you crave and cave, they will kick your ass from here to hell and back! You don't want to feel their boots on your ass, do ya? Great brothers to have in this quit ride.
My advice: read alot, post alot, drink alot of water, deal with everything head on. Ask for advice, or find the answer in the thousands of pages here at KTC.
You can do this, If I can then YOU know that you CAN! 'bang head'

Hello Everyone,
Well... I quit at 11:30 pm last night and haven't had a dip since! That's eleven hours and counting! I started chewing at the age of 14 and have been chewing for 26 years now! I chewed 2 cans a day for the last 15+ years and I have decided enough was enough... I have never joined a group before so please be patient with me as I figure out what to do on this site.

I will need all the help I can get and will try to offer help... I've been told by my doctor I have more nicotine running through my veins than I do blood....  :D

Terry I'm with NOLAQ and Bean! I'm taking a lunch break right now and have been craving so my defense is to come her and vent or to talk with some of you new guys and offer any support you might need. Hopefully you gain from something that I say but mostly I'm the one that gains, my mind is taken away from my attitude and makes me realize how far I have come and how bad the suck has been over the past 73 days. Check your inbox I'll send you a pm.

Welcome Swede!!! Great choice. Learn how to post roll...it is in the Welcome Center. If you can't figure it out, just ask.

Best decision of your life. Read everything you can. Re-read it if you have to. Commit to doing whatever is necessary to keep that shit out of your body today. Then wake up tomorrow and repeat. Lots of water and excercise helps too. But posting roll is the key. Your "quit group" is September 2012.

Welcome, brother.
