Good for you! first step of many...focus on tonight...and tonight only. We worry about tomorrow as it comes. Post and keep your word.
That is the attitude you need, be strong as you can do this. How do I know? Well there are thousands just like you here that all you need to do is follow.

Well done for starting that Day 1 today

A month ago I was scared, so I used the patch, and was not allowed to post roll or on the boards. The KTC members called me scared, and I resented them.

Now I am 6 days quit after wasting a month still being addicted to the NIC bitch and scratching the crap out of my arms and freaking out if a patch fell off. Just spit the gum out, face the crap of the first 3-4 days, and then feel the joy of the quit.
Some of my fondest and clearest memories are peeing in places that aren't bathrooms.

I have limited myself to 3 pieces of the 2mg gum per day for a week.
You say this ^^^^^ like you've accomplished something. Reality is you've accomplished nothing!

I will go to none.
This ^^^^ is when you accomplish something. I'm with jayd,,, bring it noob!

Dig deep and lets do this once and for all. No more 1mg, 2mg, 3 mg bullsh@t. You want to quit like your intro introduces,, lets see it. Replace the gum with dignity. Replace nicotine with integrity. Take a good look at that mirror like 30isenuff stated. It's all up to you.

Your move!!!

It takes 72-96 hours or about 4 days for Nicotine to leave your system after you halt the use of nicotine. That number made no sense to me last July, but it does now. I remember every waking moment of freeing myself from the chains of nicotine and tobacco.

Now I sit here not only with words but with an absolute distain for big tobacco and frankly for the FDA for allowing a weed like this shit that has killed so many be legal.

I look at wedding photos, fun time photos with my kids or other family members and shake my head because the moron I was has a wad of shit in his mouth in each of them.

It isn't easy to quit on the extreme side but it sure as fuck worked for me. In lieu of dipping your toe in the water jump on in and nut up. You have some damn fine quitters replying to your original message which means you have a network of people chomping at the bit to help you. Come on in the water's fine.

Just to add what's already been said, the gum will not help and will actually prevent you from being quit. Throw the gum out and then come back and read the Welcome Center. You have not quit, yet.

A few things...spit the gum out and throw the rest away. You wouldn't use cocaine to quit crack would you? Trust me the gum does nothing but keep you addicted to nicotine and it won't help your symptoms. Other than that you have come to the right spot. We post a promise to our brothers that we won't use any nicotine today. And then we wake up and do the same thing tomorrow and then rinse and repeat. In other words we quit one day at a time. And we'll bust your balls and we're all a bunch of assholes but we'll keep you quit if you drink the kool aid!

I have been chewing for over 20years.

I have quit chewing tobacco.. again. The last time I quit I was still addicted to the nicotine. (I chewed the gum instead.) This time, I have limited myself to 3 pieces of the 2mg gum per day for a week. Then I will go to none. It is an attempt to reduce the symptoms. I am not sure I picked the best time for this. i am newly separated from my wife but I say bring on the crucible of FIRE. I am ready lol. (Note: this quit is for ME.) It is day 2 of my quit and I must say If the 3 pieces of gum are helping at all I don't see it lol. I am jittery and 'fogged'. I have lurked on the site and must say the stories and posts here did help me decide to quit. I am going to take my life by the Balls lol.

There ya go. My intro :)
Couple of things:

You never "quit" last time. You just stopped, if you in fact ever dropped the gum.

Here at KTC we don't consider you quit until you quit using nicotine. We are a 100% nicotine free site. You are just prolonging the withdrawal effects and making yourself miserable for a longer period of time by not flushing the nic gum.

My recommendation:

Flush the gum, patches, and anal suppositories and get this quit started for real. We quit one day at a time by pledging our quit to our brothers here at KTC. I suggest you join us immediately.

Welcome, but you must be informed, this is a No Nicotine site. We quit cold turkey. You are certainly welcome to join us, but not while you are using nicotine in any form.

That being said, it really is only hell on earth the first three days, then it sucks for a couple weeks, then it isn't so bad anymore.

Read everything you can about it and go post day one with the July quit group once you've thrown out the gum and all other forms of nicotine.
