I've been a regular dipper for the past three years but quit three months ago. Started when i was twenty and quit at 23. Now I'm starting to develop a mild sore throat and a what feels like a lump in the back of my throat. It could just be a cold or allergies, but i'm also nervous that it could be mouth cancer. Any advice?

Thanks,

Sal
Hmmm... while you should always consult a medical professional to get an opinion that is worth a darn, it's probably nothing. After all, it's allergy season and your ENTS will almost definitely tell you that it's post-nasal drip and write you an Rx for hay fever.

That said, 75% of oral cancers diagnosed in patients over the age of 50 are in tobacco users. Nicotine is a highly addictive substance.

Why did you quit?
How many dips have you had since you quit?
The next time you think that "just one" won't hurt, watch this video: VSauce and Risk

Close to 43,250 Americans will be diagnosed with oral or pharyngeal cancer this year. It will cause over 8,000 deaths, killing roughly 1 person per hour, 24 hours per day. Of those 43,250 newly diagnosed individuals, only slightly more than half will be alive in 5 years. - See more at: http://www.oralcancerfoundation.org/fac ... vLYcG.dpuf

Some of my fondest and clearest memories are peeing in places that aren't bathrooms.
