I'm on day 6, so this will be the first full weekend that I won't be dipping. I've planned it out pretty well, won't be going out to the bars or drinking. Working out and keeping busy seems like the way to go. What to you guys do to keep busy on the weekends? I'm just looking for some conversation to go to for the start of the weekend...

Hello everyone! I just found this site today and thought I would give it a try. My last dip was on Saturday 7/23/11. I've been having more of a cranky attitude today and I think I can blame it on not having that chew. Its been 10 years since I started, and I feel like I'm 10 years overdue... I live in Alaska, the support structure is lacking; but I want to quit, so I'm going to... hopeing to get some support from the folks online at least.
Glad to be quit with you. I am here if you need some help. Please PM me if you need something.

Well…  I just figured out roll call, my frustration level was pretty high the past few days so my concentration and patience was lacking, but I figured it out.

LubyÂ’s on top of it, IÂ’m probably in a different group since my quit was before 7/25/11; but IÂ’m just happy to get the days in. I guess IÂ’ll work it out later. IÂ’ll have to keep checking out the site more, itÂ’s just hard for me to sit still right now. You know?

IÂ’m happy to say that IÂ’m not around the Bering Sea like the guys on Deadliest Catch, I would go crazy! IÂ’m in Southeast, in Juneau (the capital) I work for Fish and Game and all these guys dip, they never knew that I did before; so they donÂ’t give me shit for quitting unlike some other people whom I know from the bar scene and pool league.

I truly appreciate the help from everyone! I’ll have to start getting in on some conversations in the evenings after work or something. Thanks again everyone!

THis is the strangest thing ever, but just what you need. Somehow, quitting works with support from a bunch of folks I've never even met. Never would have thought it. THese guys are right, post something somewhere here. Even somethign crazy incoherent, and you'll get a response from somebody. PM some folks, get some contact numbers, and you'll have the support you need. The system here works. Use it and you'll succeed. There is no "want to quit", "try to quit", or "need to quit". There is quit or there is not quit. Right now, you are ther former. Stay that way and you'll never have to suffer another day one.

Hey Shaundy,

Luby is right ... Keep reading and learn about posting roll. I'm new to the site but quit 30 days ago.

Ironically, I was watching Deadliest Catch tonight and thinking about dipping and how much it must suck for dudes in Alaska to try to quit. I mean, shit, if I lived there, I'd be doing something like that just to keep my mind off of all the fucking snow!

You're not alone ...

I'm on day 11, so I am not an expert on this site by any means.... Go to the intro page and start posting roll. If you have any problems at all, post something, anything, anywhere on the site. People will help you, that is exactly what I did and I am still here, still quit and moving forward. I wish I was more help but I'm still learning myself. Use this site and it will help immensely. Let's do this quit!
