Quitters â€" Episode 61 is live.

This one wasn't planned.

It came out of a Twitter argument I got into this week about harm reduction and nicotine addiction. After it was over, I kept thinking about the conversation and realized we weren't really arguing about whether nicotine causes cancer.

We were arguing about what a successful quit actually looks like.

If a smoker switches to a nicotine pouch, they've reduced their risk. That's a good thing.

But are they done?

For me, the goal has always been something more: getting to the point where you don't need nicotine at all.

I also talk about where I think I screwed up in the Twitter exchange, why I called the guy a "shill," and why I wish I'd handled that part differently.

I'd really like to hear what folks thinks about the question at the center of the episode:

If nicotine were completely harmless, would you still want to be addicted to it?

Life doesn't stop when you quit nicotine. In fact, that's when you start getting your life back.

In Episode #56 of the KillTheCan Podcast, Chewie shares a powerful realization during one of the busiest, most stressful seasons of life:

âœ... Back-to-school chaos
âœ... Family transitions
âœ... Travel
âœ... Major life changes

And through all of it...

Nicotine never crossed his mind once.

If you're early in your quit and wondering if you'll always be fighting cravings, this episode offers real hope and perspective. We also discuss nicotine pouches, modern withdrawal, Big Tobacco's latest tactics, and why community remains one of the most powerful tools in recovery.

New Article: Why Are Nicotine Pouches So Popular With Teens?

Teen nicotine pouch use is rising, but what's driving it?

The latest research points to several factors:

• Easy to hide
• Appealing flavors
• Social media exposure
• "Tobacco-free" marketing
• Perceived lower risk

The product may be different, but the nicotine addiction is the same.

What do you think is the biggest reason nicotine pouches have become so popular with younger users?
