Day 3 over. I hear 72 hours and the Nic is out of your system. Then it gets challenging. Well challenge accepted head on tonight when my wife forced me to go to Twilight opening today. Was not ready for that stress. But my resolve in quit stayed strong!
Dude... you just showed me you've got the balls to quit.

If you can make it through sparkling vampires on day #3 of your quit you're ready to tackle anything!

Thanks man. Today my 18 month screamed the whole time we were at a resteraunt. Managers came out! But "sparkling vampires" we're the challenge.

One other thing. After about a week or so, i thought things would be a LOT better. I was wrong.  After a month, I thought it SHOULD be over by NOW!  I guess the amount of nic you are used to and the years of doing it matter in this regard. But I can say that - as many have also said on here - it does get better as the days go by. You get used to living without it.
Yep... I had the same thoughts. Back in the day, figured I should feel just about back to "normal" after a month or so. Unfortunately it's not nearly that quick, but as you correctly point out it does get better daily.

Keep on keepin on!

chewie
What is "normal"? Can you define it? Do you even recollect a non-nicotine dependent you?
A very valid point sir Loot. No, I really don't remember "normal". Hell... that was when I was 14. I can't even remember what I ate for breakfast yesterday.

That said, "normal" for me NOW is quit. And I love it.

Yep. Listen to LOOT. You need to rediscover who you are . . . the real you outside of slavery to the poison. It's gonna' take a while, but it's definitely worth it.

Congratulations Grizzleysnuffer. The 1st days are tough but hang in there. I used the mint snuff, no tobacco or nic. It helps at least for me and several others. Different brands but the Oregon mint snuff I like. It feels more natural than some - same as beaver chew.
There is actually a tv commercial and YouTube video for the oregon mint snuffband beaver chew. I havent tried them all, but these were available locally.
Thanks will have to try. I also heard good reviews about jakes mint

Also, i have found that I think less about dipping than I used to. At times, I get a strong urge now, but I dont call it a craving. Now, think about it , want it, then move on a lot easier.

I am sitting here, day 60 something, and haven't even had an urge this morning. I think the key is to occupy your mind and then the fake dip can help as well- or seeds or whatever - just to keep your gums from being lonely.

I quit 6 hours ago. Still didn't want to post day 1. How do I know I won't use?
Is your word worth a shit?

If so, post your promise you won't use for today. Today is 2 1/2 hours long if you're east coast.

You can do anything for 2 1/2 hours.

Or, are you a big puss?

Your new and the fog is starting but your not understanding so many things here. I will try to simplify it for you.

There is a shit load of people on this site that have made the same decision you should today. I've done it, the guy above me has done it, and hundreds of others have done it for today.

SO CAN YOU!!

Are you going to let the addict inside you control your decisions or are you going to be a real man that doesn't hide from his bitch ass self by throwing cancer in his lip?

You decide. You post roll first thing when you wake up as a promise that no matter what the fuck happens you WILL NOT CAVE.

Do it, don't be a cupcake. Quit now. Post roll now. Your not a special butterfly that will have a harder time quitting than any of the other hundreds or thousands of people who do it every day on this site.

Your just like us, we are just like you, we know how it feels.... We know how it can be done. Post roll and give us the chance to help.
I made it through day two! Lots of challenges too.
