Update:

I'd like to thank everyone who prayed for my mom. She called me last night to say that the mass they removed was a benign tumor. What a relief! Now to take care of Matthew - His specialist appt is Oct. 25th. Not sure how much we'll find out in our first visit but it's a start in the right direction. (just think positive Nickie, right?) I started a plan of action for him at school. He'll now have a speech therapist and be evaluated to see if he needs additional help. I'm trying all avenues with help for him.

My wish is to one day see him smiling, laughing and enjoying life like a little boy should. He only gets one shot at a childhood. I love him and my family so much. I only hope it shows in all that I do.

Again, thank you! I love ya'll too! And I hope it shows!

It only takes three days for your body to completely rid itself of nicotine. Just think of all the other junk your body will have expelled by Day 21.

CLOSE THE DOOR. In my opinion, it?s the single most important step in your final quit. There is one moment, THE moment, when you finally let go and surrender to the quit.

After just one day without tobacco, your body has already begun to heal itself. Say "you're welcome." Your body is thanking you

epupdaddy,

Please reconsider your reason for quitting. Quitting exclusively for your wife will most likely lead you to failure.

Think about this: What are you going to do the first time your wife pisses you off? If the quit is for you, you are certainly going to think about dipping, if not doing it.

I quit for my wife several times. I kept going back within a few days. Today is day 22 for me. I've made it this far because I quit for me this time.

Want reasons to quit for yourself? Here are a few...

1. Being alive for your wife is a good start.
2. Being there for your children, if any.
3. Saving money. 22 days, almost $70. for me.
4. Cancer

There are more. Only you can find your kicker.

Think about it.

LOOT still has massive rage attacks

ask the guy in the VW from Sunday

loot has had the cops called several times by other motorist

the coppers even pulled loot on one occassion

loot must just be angry person huh NG

like WWB said...hold yer fucking tongue until you string together more than 3 days

asswipe
loot, first of all are you serious? i get road rage too. i remember my first quit in the november group on the first day walking into wal-mart and wanting to collide with someone to start a fight. i really was ready to fight someone and decided to give up driving for the rest of that day. road rage has been a problem with me too, and i have pulled my share of stunts. you seem like a mellow person and it is surprising to hear that you get it too. bat i hope you only get pissed at the customer service people who deserve it, because some are nice and competent. quittin time i didn't say i knew a lot about quitting, just a lot about dip rage and rage period.
Now I'm sorry I didn't come in here last night.

Show us some of that rage bad boy!

I'm still getting rage attacks on day 8, i lose my cool way more easily but its gotten way better, id say days 3-6 were the worst.  quitting during the baseball playoffs and football season hasn't made it any easier on me, maybe i should have waited until february.
-Nails, quit date: 10/8
You serious? There is never a good time to quit. You can think of a million excuses to wait and LOOT is sure you have. DonÂ’t piss away 8 days of clean.
werd, there is never a convenient time to quit...there will always be something that tells our minds we should wait. push through the craves, push through the rage...packing your piehole with snuff as you watch your team isn't going to make them win. if they loose well, at least you won't be a looser who threw away their quit.

stopping for a couple days is easy amigos, but quittin' the snuff is tough. keep pushing and hang in there. the shit gets easier.
actually playoff/football time is a GREAT time to quit... you've already beaten one of your MAJOR triggers!
I hear ya on that Chewie. Before I quit, I "cut down". The first thing I did was stop having dips in the car. Since I have an hour+ commute (one-way, everyday), this was difficult. When I did quit, having that trigger out of the way was huge. Each trigger you beat down makes the quit easier!!!

BAT
the only thing that matters is making it thru today... Rinse, lather, repeat, rinse, lather, repeat... As far as craves or triggers go, I'm with looT, they still come after 440 days but they are like gnats. Its been said many times and by much better quitters than me but still rings true, "If I can do it anyone can".
