One thing I learned on this website is that the lawnmower will work without chew.

It has been 9 days. When I quit chewing the first 5 days I had little cravings. I think I had enough nicotine in my system to last me those days. Going on 9 days the cravings have been worse. Nothing serious but I do have a plan when they come on. My biggest concern and why I never quit before was how was I going to function at work without chew. I went to work and survived those days and I feel great. I want to thank this website because it has helped tremendously in quitting. I feel great.
One thing I learned on this website is that the lawnmower will work without chew.

September will be easier...

This whole month of august, Im stationed all by my lonesome at a base in the quiet south end of the county. Normally, its called "the vacation station" because this is where us medics get sent about every 4 months to kind of regroup and cool off after running hard at busy bases for 3 months straight. We work 24 hours on, and 48 off. So we work about 10 shifts per month and spend that entire month at an assigned base. This is when my triggers are going nuts. When Im sitting here, watching TV, reading, surfing the net, or doing reports from the few calls I actually run here, is when I would usually burn through about half a can. However, next month, I return to the busiest base in the county, which leaves little downtime. Ill be so busy running calls and doing reports that I wont have much time to dwell on my long lost friend mr Grizzly. Because nobody knew that I dipped, I tended to dip a lot less when working at busier bases cause I had to wait until I could get off by myself for a few minutes. Im actually ready for my month at the vacation station to be over with so I can get back in the shit and get my hands dirty. Not that i want people to get hurt, but staying busy will help me get out of this funk. And unfortunately, for me to stay busy, people have to get hurt or sick. Ive got one more shift after this one here at this base. I work again on the 30th, then I start at a new base on Sept 2. Bring on the Fall!
