Did you know Tony Gwynn had mouth cancer? Check this out:
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1067 ... co-chewers

The most haunting/sad part is toward the end of the article:
""I’m thinking it’s related to dipping,” said Gwynn, who resumed the practice of using chewing tobacco after the first two surgeries."
I’m thinking it’s related to dipping,”

Ya think? :blink:

There is a really good "Outside the Lines" article/video regarding Tony Gwynn which is linked in the Words of Wisdom section.

I just read through the 100 reasons to stop dipping and I was amazed at how many of those instances I have caught myself doing in the past, it was easily 90 out of the 100 reasons listed.
We've all been their, my friend. You can call it your past!

Haha, just told Mrs. Hater I need a blank check for tomorrow, she was like for what? I said need to send it to Greg (Chewie) for my 1,000 day, she was how much? I said, I have no idea, I need to print out the last post from yesterday and and count the posters and multiply by $5. She rolled her eyes, smiled and said - it's better than dipping! I agree, Thanks for all the support!
Thanks just doesn't seem to cover it. Let the Mrs. Know how grateful we are.
I would like to thank all the Admins and Mods that make this happen for 16,000 quitters (as of today), sometimes sweat equity is more important than money equity. I thank all of you.
Words seem inadequate.

Thank you and the misses.
What these men said, Hater. Thanks to you and your wife for the generosity.
Thank you Hater. Awesome, man.
We really appreciate it hater and your wife for putting up with all of us!!! Many Thanks!!!

Proverbs 18:2

"A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion."

A Quit Plan: Do you have one?

CLOSE THE DOOR. In my opinion, it?s the single most important step in your final quit. There is one moment, THE moment, when you finally let go and surrender to the quit.
After that moment, no temptation will be great enough, no lie persuasive enough to make you commit suicide by using tobacco. SportDad 1/13/05

Warm summer sun, shine kindly here;
Warm southern wind, blow softly here;
Green sod above, lie light, lie light.-
Good-night, dear heart, good-night.

Be silly, be honest, be kind
