Did Larry Allen really have a huge cat turd in as he was being honored before the Super Bowl? Classy.

I'm going to label this one as a minor Victory in defeat:

I will say this, I'm new to this group and just joined a few days ago, but its no excuse for my slip up. I'm sorry, you guys have been nothing but supportive since I joined and I let you down.
I got drunk at the bar with the buddies last night and cracked for about ten minutes until the guilt in my mind finally won over. I'm still going to label this as a small victory because for the first time in my days as a chewer I was able to convince myself that i didnt need nicotine with my beer to have a good time. The rest of the night i was able to have fun and didn't think twice about my decision to spit it out.

So here's to another day. My next test will be tonight during the super bowl and im gonna give it my all. The friends are coming over and they all think im bat shit crazy for trying to quit. I even think two of them have a side bet going on about which day they think ill crack.

Wish me luck,
AaronJ

Just wanted to share a victory with the group,

I spent the better part of my day yesterday at Assembly Hall in Bloomington, IN for College Game Day and then later for the IU Michigan basketball game. Throughout the day, we went down on Kirkwood to the "Deli" for breakfast, Kilroy's, the Upstairs, Upland for dinner and finally back to Assembly Hall for the game. After the game, I think we shut down Nic's.

The best part of the whole day was that I never had to look for a place to spit and secondly.......Ill be honest........I don't think I ever thought about a dip. Crazy I know......but it was one of the best days ever.

That's a big W right there.
HUGE!

And DAMN do I miss Bloomington...

Your ill intentions here are obvious. Choose the wording of your next post well because it will likely be your last.
I don't mean to cause ill intentions. Like I said, tobacco in any form is not good for you, but scaring people into quitting something they enjoy and providing false facts to try to make people do so isn't cool.
Yep...that's your last. Go play somewhere else bro.
What a fuckin knob. We are not trying to make anyone quit, they came here looking for help with it. And we are not trying to scare anyone, they were already scared.

Nothing worse than an over opinionated 23 yr old.
From the CDC page on tobacco:

•Smokeless tobacco is a known cause of human cancer.5 In addition, the nicotine in smokeless tobacco may increase the risk for sudden death from a condition where the heart does not beat properly (ventricular arrhythmias) and, as a result, the heart pumps little or no blood to the body's organs.5

5.World Health Organization. Smokeless Tobacco and Some Tobacco-Specific N-Nitrosamines (PDF–3.18 MB). International Agency for Research on Cancer Monographs on the Evaluation of Carcinogenic Risks to Humans Vol. 89. Lyon, (France): World Health Organization, International Agency for Research on Cancer, 2007 [accessed 2011 Mar 11].

And here is a nice compilation of abstracts studying smokeless tobacco and cancer:

Bottom line is smokeless tobacco contains over two dozen know carcinogens. Stick that in your lip for 10-15 hours a day for 1, 5, 10, 40 years and you increase your chance of getting cancer. Sorry if this scares you.

People don't enjoy using tobacco. People enjoy getting their "fix" of nicotine. People enjoy stopping the misery of withdrawal by smoking or dipping. Just like a Meth addict. You see, tobacco users are hard core drug addicts. Slaves to their drug. At some point users realize they are a slave to tobacco and want to stop. But can't. Then they see their dipping buddy die a very slow painful death from oral or stomach cancer. And they want to stop. But can't. All this site does is get addicts together to help each other stop using. There are no "false facts" and nobody is "scaring" anyone.

Please get off your uninformed pompous pedistal and go back to play school.
My first opinion and post on this site other than posting roll. Experience whether bad or good entitles you to be an expert. Popping off with so called facts and stats with no experience makes you stupid. 35 years of Copenhagen controlling me, if it was easy I would have quit way before now.

It seems like a lot of the facts presented here about the dangers of smokeless tobacco are unfounded.
Can you please show me which facts and your evidence to the contrary?
I don't know exactly where the page is but it talks about fiberglass being in dip, when that isn't true, all the stories of those getting cancer, blaming it on dip when consuming alcoholic beverages plays a huge role is getting mouth cancer as well, things like that. I mean I'm not saying dip is good for you because it isn't, but it seems to be a lot safer than some of the other tobacco products.
So, your whole reason for saying we are liars is because there is an urban legend (that you can't point to here) that fiberglass is in the product?

Can you offer evidence that using nicotine (in any form) does not raise your chances of getting cancer, raises your blood pressure, etc?

Finally, I don't care about what is the "safest" product. I spent years with that addictive weed, and I will tell you I regret it. Not once do I regret quitting it.

How long you been chewing bud?
I don't 'chew'. I've dipped for a total of like 6 months in my entire life, 23 years old, have probably dipped a total of 10 cans in my lifetime, so hardly any at all. So wait, nicotine is the problem now, not the tobacco itself? Where is there scientific evidence that nicotine causes cancer?
So, if this is so unimportant to you, why are you here trolling our site?

I never "dipped" for the joy of it. That just happened to be my preferred vehicle. I dipped because I was (and always will be) addicted to the drug (nicotine). I enjoy being free from its grip.

This is an "extreme" quitting site, my friend.

You don't have to agree with our methods, but I will tell you this:

Nicotine is a highly addictive chemical.

Quitting is very difficult and scary.

Quitting on your own yields a 5% success rate.

NRT is not effective to quitting smokeless tobacco.

We yield a 25-30% success rate with some simple rules: Post roll, keep your word, and repeat.

You are more than welcome to be here, but you must be nicotine free. To play on our playground, we require you to post roll (how many days you've been quit). We require you to keep your word today.
In the end I Surrender, I and I alone accept that I have and always will have a Nicotene ADDICTION. It is my choice to quit, but I can't do it alone. I get to go down this path one time, I want to do it right. I recognize that my word, my integrety to you is on the line and is only as good as my actions. Caving is not an option in this plan-Eafman 7/11

I am not cured. I will quit one day at a time. I will continue to do what works. Posting roll everyday. To do otherwise would be foolish on my part. You can do this-Ready 12/11

To overcome your addiction you must comprehend what it means to fail-Razd 3/12

Theres a lot of people that come here, especially vets, that WANT to be reminded that they are addicts.-Tarpon 6/12

Just as a building starts with architectural drawings. Your daily quit begins with a promise.-Scowick 2/13

Here and now, focused on today, minute by minute, whatever it takes, I promise to all my bros and myself not to become a negative stat and stay quit!-krok 1/15

I want everyone to be quit. Even the assholes.-Probe1957 1/18

Ignoring history or erasing history fixes nothing and leads you inevitably down the same path.-69franx 04/30/2021

Also, if you haven't checked this website out, I recommend doing so..
