I just joined today. After 5 years of being done with the can I started up again. About 6 months ago I have found myself seriously stressed. With all this stress I resorted back to the can. 6 months later I have "quit" every month only to start back. I so sick of doing that and I'm seriously don't know why I'm doing it other than just to do it. I need some words of wisdom from someone and I want to quit for good, forever. Please reply!
Yes, Let's stop. I just flushed it down the toilet and I'm committed quitting. Thank you for the support! Do it together!
we got this! glad you flushed that junk! I did the same! had my father in law pick me up a roll the other day when he went to Louisiana for work since its much cheaper there than here in TX. he dropped it off to me i opened it up took a dip sat on the couch and wondered to myself what in the hell am i doing at that moment i spit the one out of my mouth and threw every can away. NO REGRETS its now or never.

welcome! I have done many mini quits and the anxiety combined with stress always pulled me back. Im also new to this group and starting my quit too. Lets do this together lets not let snuff or any other kind of nicotine control our lives. lets get in control of ourselves and live how we need and should.

So I posted this in my Group over at September, but I think I should add it here as well:

I have to tell all of you this story quick.... So I like most of you have an addictive personality not only am I addicted to nicotine, but I'm also a "functioning alcoholic" what I mean by this is I have a full time job, a part time job, a family, the fire department and my dear friend booze. I have off every other Wednesday to Friday and normally I would get lit at least one of those night's. I'm off this week so guess what I would normally be doing.... I was at the store today to get diaper's, wipes etc, but since I have completely changed my lifestyle since I joined KTC I bought a case of water instead of my normal booze run... Man this place has a huge effect on me and not just my nicotine abuse....I freaking love it here!!!!

I quit dipping yesterday...sore on my tongue scared me from doing it anymore. My kids were also motivation to quit. I only crave and want dips at night. It's been a constant thing for me for 8 years. What are some good dip alternatives out there? I have the herbal smokey mountain stuff and hate it..have some stuff called hooch coming in the mail. Dying for that oral fixation of a dip in my mouth. Just need something that feels like the real thing..
There are several great fake dips out there. Many (myself included) like SMC but many (like you) do not. It really comes down to personal preference.

We've got a slew of reviews here: http://www.killthecan.org/your-quit/reviews/

Congrats on a great start!

Hey has anyone experience mood swings and or depression for the earlier days in their quit? Or am I the only one ? 'bang head'
You're definitely not the only one.

I became extremely moody after I quit, which is odd for me because I'm the type of guy that doesn't show emotion in the first place.

As for the depression, that is more than likely just your addict mind feeling down because you don't have that poison anymore. You could also be experiencing the "fog", which is basically a funk you will go through from time to time during your quit.
