Hi everyone, Im a new member here only 6 days into my quit cold turkey. As most of you can probably imagine the cravings are pretty intense this first week and also wondered like BROODKOWSKI above me what methods anyone has used to get through them. Has anyone tried Nicorete gum, I used to see my grandfather use it in lieu of cigs but I feel in the end he just became addicted to the gum instead.
This site can help you kick your nicotine addiction (not a habit) to the curb. We don't use words like try or hope as they are just another excuse for our addictive brains to tell us another lie. There are no short cuts, its gonna suck until it doesn't but then you'll at least be able to look yourself in the mirror and know you are no longer a slave.
This a NO NICOTINE site. End of discussion.

Hi everyone I just joined the site today, I quit for a couple months a few years ago using the coffee pouches and plan to start my quit once they come in the mail next week. For me the cravings are always associated with an activity, driving, golfing, working, after a couple drinks and the list goes on and on. Do any of you have any suggestions for easing those and have any of you had success using the coffee pouches or something similar? Thanks in advanced for the help and I'm thankful for all the information on this site keep up the good work!

Hello KTC. My quit day officially started on 04/01/15 (April Fool's Day). Everyone thought I was joking when I said I made the decision the day before to throw an almost brand-new tin in the trash while washing my truck, but I had enough of it. I had just gotten back from a trip to New Mexico with my girlfriend, we drove the entire way there and back, the longest road trip I had taken in my adult life and I had gone through 4 cans on the drive and 2 cans while I was there. My mouth hurt, I was pissed off, and I was thinking of my family and my potential family having to look at me as I stuffed another dip in my mouth during family events, or just chilling on the couch watching a movie.

I started dipping when I was 16, 'bang head' almost as an excuse to give my fellow classmates so I didn't have to participate in other drugs/consumption of alcohol. I know, weak excuse, but to this day I am proud to say I have never touched any illegal substance. Anyways, I have dipped most of my adult life (almost 25 now) and didn't want to be a quarter century old and a decade dipper. So I quit.

I found this site a long time ago, and just joined today because my cravings were so bad my girlfriend had to help me to the car because I felt like I was gonna fall over. Miserable.

Right now I am a fan of Smokey Mountain Mint Long Cut, but I was a Copenhagen dipper before and can't find anything to replace Copenhagen pouches. I am mainly looking for similar dimensions and similar "wetness" I guess you could say. If you have any recommendations please let me know.

Hopefully I will make it to my 100 Day HOF and beyond.
Leo, a drug is a drug, legal or illegal! All can be abused and we can be addicted and have been. Leo I turned 55 and realized I'd been a addict for over 40 years. Well like you I quit on April fools day 2012. Stay quit! Posting roll and being active on this site will help. As time of being quit passes you will see what nicotine has taken from you. Don't let it back into your life. In three years I've seen too many examples of the lasting power of this addiction, never let your guard down. Check your inbox I left you a message.

Staying busy is helping me, work out a lot as suggested, try not to spend too much time alone, your mind can be an evil enemy. If you are alone a lot, come on here and talk to people. Just focus about today, nothing else.

What do you do to get through the day? I can't hardly get any work done. All I can think about is going to get in my truck to ride around and have a dip! Luckily I don't have any and am not going to get any. I am determined to kick this habit but I just don't know what to do with myself. Had no idea I was so addicted.
I totally feel ya SO... I am so glad I flushed mine, cuz I wouldn't have made it . Previously I had the mind set that "I'll keep it around , it will make it easier" .. UM  SO WRONG. FLUSHING IT WAS MY ANSWER.
IT's a long road, and it's tough right now (my Day 2) But with all the support on this KTC I know I can do it and so can you.
It's not easy. The first week for me was the worst: had nothing to do with the headaches or anything. It was about the nicotine mind games that I had given into before: "I made it 5 days! Let me just have one to celebrate!" Yeah, that worked really well... for 20 years.

Post roll, read, LOTS OF WATER, work out and get support from whomever you can: KTC members, family, friends, etc. It's not easy, but after only 24 days, I am feeling incredible. So nice to not have the spit cup in the car anymore!
Awesome job, Lax. The spit cups, the dip particles all over my dashboard, the spitters stuffed under the seat in 90° heat....I don't miss any of it.

Keep up the fight! You are winning!
