Oh yah....answer me this. Beer has always been a trigger to start chewing again. Should I quit the beer also or learn to defeat the trigger and have a beer??
alcohol has ruined many quits, especially during the first month,
we do recommend to watch yourself, if not abstain during that time frame until you let your body get used to dealing with the absence of nicotine
then once there, and you learn the tools, work back in slowly if wanted.
Yep. Alcohol can be a big trigger. Triggers can lead to the can early in your quit.
If beer is a trigger, learn to deal with that trigger. If that means you need to abstain for a while, then that's what it should mean.
For me, it meant not going to the same establishments for a while. But it also meant buying gas at a different station, not playing golf with certain folks, etc. Your mileage may vary.

The bigger question is - is a cold beer or two worth your freedom?
The truth is, I'll bet - you're 46 - you know the answer to this question, because you've tried to quit many times and caved. You KNOW what the deal is. You want US to tell you, "It'll be ok buddy. Go have your beers. You'll be fine."
I'm 44. It ain't going to be fine. Or fun. You're going to have to fucking work for this, and you better start right now. You would sure as shit give up on a couple beers if it interfeared with your dipping. I'll bet you've excused yourself from many situations in your life so you could go pack a fatty.
Well now, you have to do what ever you can to make that time so you WON'T pack your face.
Give up beer. Eat sunflower seeds. Don't go to the bar. Pay at the pump. Go to a different store. Skip the annual fishing trip. Blow some goats. What ever it takes, you need to do it.
Quitting is not a spectator sport. Participation is required.
