Hi everyone, my name's Joe Setum. I'm 23 years old and have been dipping for the past 6-7 years. I believe that one of the main reasons for my chewing was due to playing baseball. That is where I started chewing and what has made it so difficult for me to put a stop to this habit. I can't remember the last time that I played in a baseball game without having a dip in, it would feel like I was missing something playing without it. I was able to quit once before for about a month during a break from baseball, but went right back to the can as soon as ball started back up again. I told my friends and family that I would quit chewing as soon as I my baseball career was over, being that it was so hard for me to during ball (bad excuse, I know). Well the good news is I have just graduated from college, and ended my career finishing up playing at the D1 level so now is the time to quit! I've got adult life to look forward to know, and don't want to continue hindering my health on a daily basis. I didn't really set a quit date, just started cutting back big time. I was chewing just under a can a day to a can a day, then was able to easily cut back to only 2-3 chews a day. Yesterday, September 18th, 2014, I was busy and ended up not taking one all day, so I decided that was the beginning of my road to killing the can. Looking forward to meeting you all and hearing if you've got any tips/help that could help me out along my journey. Thanks guys!
