Well shit. I bought the lozenges on my doctors advice. I'm betting he ain't ever tried to quit. You guys are the real experts.
I'm no doctor, but I have quit.

If you were addicted to heroin, would you quit by switching to cocaine?

If you were addicted to vodka, would you switch to gin to quit?

If you were addicted to Vicodin, would you quit with OxyContin ?

Nicotine is as addictive as any of these examples. Don't listen to the PhD on this one. Trust us.

Welcome aboard!
C'mon Wade. Do it now. You have hundreds/thousands of people here waiting for you. We want a better life for you.

Great choice, Wade!!! Quitting is a badge of honor. You shouldn't look for short-cuts....they don't exist. Cold turkey is the way to go. Nobody can do it for you. It doen't matter how much or how long you dipped. You are, and will always be, an ADDICT. The good news is that you can control it. When you're posting roll, click on few other quit groups...a few other months/years. Cool, huh? All of those bad-asses have been what you're going through right now. And we're all doing ONE DAY AT A TIME.

I'm pumped to be quitting with you, brother. Post roll, keep your word, and repeat. You can do this!!!

We quit nicotine here. You haven't quit yet. Flush all the nic and post roll. Read the welcome center. Bottom left drop down menu, scroll to welcome center.

Definitely drop the nic candies - the sooner you rid yourself of the nic the easier it will be. I attempted to "wean" myself prior to my quit date thinking it would be easier. However, I had the same withdrawls during my "wean" period as during my quit period - causing my withdrawls to last longer than they needed to. Bottomline is that your brain/body cannot begin to restore itself to living without nic until it's all gone..

I quit with you Wade. I'm on day 4. It sucks, but you were dumb enough to start it in the first place. The shit you deal with when quitting is your body's sweet revenge for years of nicotine in your blood. It gets better. Ditch the nicotine lozenges, post roll with us in the Sultans, and Quit Like Fuck.

I'm pm'ing you my number. Use it if you ever need it.
You're Quit, Not Cured. KTC will help remind you of the difference.

Found this site a few days ago, and just registered.

My last chew of Copenhagen was Saturday night.

I bought some of those nicotine lozenges to see if that could get me over the first two or three weeks. Not sure if that's a good idea or not, but I'm doing it.

The biggest problem I've had today is working at my desk. Over and over again, I've been working on something, reached down to my shirt pocket and had a moment of confusion when I didn't find anything there. Lost my train of thought and then fight to get back on task. I need to find some herbal chew, but checked 4 places so far and haven't found any. Ordered a few cans last night. That tells me for sure that half of this battle is mental, I'm replacing the nicotine so it's just the urge to put some dirt in my mouth that's killing me.

As far as I can remember, I was a freshman in high school when I started. I grew up in Wyoming, and chewing Copenhagen was the normal thing to do. I'll turn 36 this year. I've tried to quit twice before. Once in about 1998, and again in 2002 or so. Not since then. This time, I hope I'm a little more committed. I never made 2 weeks any of the other two times.

Thanks guys for all the good reading on here.
Welcome aboard wade!

The fake chew is a great idea.

The nicotine lozenges are a terrible idea. They contain nicotine which is what you're addicted to. Every time you take one, you're reintroducing nicotine into your body. Sure, they'll "take the edge" off... the same way a dip would take the edge off. Ditch them, and power through.

Don't get me wrong... it's going to suck balls and you're going to hate me for pointing it out, but its your quickest path to freedom.

Also... please don't "hope that you're a little more committed". That's weak sauce.

KNOW that you can do this. You're not alone. You've got 20,000 other quitters here that "get it". You CAN do this. Just got to decide that you want it.

Wade, you gotta cancel that quit date because you haven't quit anything until you flush the nicotine candies. Once you do, learn how to post roll with a Day 1 in the September 2014 group.

I went 30 days with a patch on, and once I finally got the sac to take it off, it still sucked balls. Save save yourself some time and quit with us today.
