  • Interests: I was addicted to nicotine for about 19 years before I actually realized that I was an addict to a drug. Allen Carr helped open my eyes with LionHeartedGirl (my sister). I am currently on day 2 and because of the frame of mind and different point of view that "The Easy Way" has given me, I don't doubt for one moment that I have ingested the last bit of that weed for the rest of my life. I am 35 now and am setting a goal of living long enough to have saved $100,000 because of my quit. At the same time, I am setting the goal of not smoking TODAY! One step at a time, while keeping my eyes on the horizon.

It's great to see all of you guys seeking each other out and supporting each other already. There are guys that I call friends that I met my first days on this site. I have one challenge for all of you. Make sure you make the promise to post 100% of the time especially for the first 100 days. This place doesn't work right if you only post most days. Share cell#'s privately with each other and use them. Text each other on a regular basis to see how each other is doing and especially use the numbers when you feel a crave. Use the numbers to vent a bit. Any and all of you that need a number, PM me and I'll give you mine. I'm on day 95 and am 100% NAFAR brothers.

NAFAR. Learn what it means and live it.

Thanks mostly to LHG. That girl rocks the world. I love you Sis.
Someone, somewhere out there is suffering through a more intense crave than me and that person is staying quit. As will I. -JoeMellow
SkyDiver - The first step is a bitch but that's when the fun starts.

I'm with you too George and Derik. I'm only a few days ahead and I have been in quite a fog. However, I have made some fun with that. Whenever my wife asks what I'm doing or my parents call I just kind of.......well, act out of it and relax. Nothing is as important as not dipping. Nothing. We can all do this... We don't think we can, we are not a little train, we just freaking do it. Make the decision and let it be over with.

Hi George and welcome. I'm on day 15 so not far ahead of you but far enough to say that reading others' experiences and advice really helps, as does the accountability when you are no longer able to be a ninja dipper. Hang in there it gets better! Glad to be quit with you.
This info helped me early on, and still does today: https://whyquit.com/whyquit/linksaaddiction.html

Quitters I’ve met so far: Ihatecope, >Pinched<, T-Cell, grizzlyhasclaws, Canvasback, BaseballPlayer, Cbird65, ERDVM, BradleyGuy, Ted, Zeno, AppleJack, Bronc, Knockout, MookieBlaylock, Rdad, 2mch2lv4, MN_Ben, Natro, Lippizaner, Amquash, ChristopherJ, GDubya, SRohde  -- always eager to meet more!

Welcome to the brotherhood George! I'm on day 2 as well, so we both have a long and difficult road ahead of us. Read all the resources on the site, post roll call every day, and reach out to other KTC members. You're more than welcome to shoot me a PM any time things get rough. When I reach day 100 and enter the HOF I better look right below my name and see GeorgeHayduke - day 100.

As title says, I am entering 2nd day of quit. I've been inspired by information I have found on this site, but still need to read more.

I am almost 43 and been dipping since I was about 13. It's been a way of life and it is hard to imagine days without it. But it is ruining my marriage and have to also think about my two little girls. I've been hiding it and lying about it for way too long and that is not a good feeling.

I tried quitting several years ago by switching to Nicorette gum and if anything that made my nicotine addiction worse. With the gum I could get the nicotine anytime I wanted and found myself constantly chewing the gum around family and dipping my Grizzly pouches when alone. It's been like constant nicotine from the minute I wake up to bedtime. Got through first day OK. Not feeling too bad physically, but I am sure it will get worse. I plan on posting Roll from now on and providing and leaning on support from my group.
