BB, I got your PM and I'm glad to hear that you made it through the weekend and drive NOW it's time to get with the program. Posting roll first thing every day, with no exceptions, is the backbone of KTC. You need to stay around as much as you possibly can and just when you think you've had enough reading, you haven't, read some more. You can not and WILL NOT do this alone. You've already said you've tried to quit many times over the years. Get some #'s from your quit group, get into chat, interact in Feb but don't try this half assed.

Road trip....driving and dipping....yep, been there. Early in my quit....like week three I think, I had to take a road trip...14 hours one way. Oh yeah, and I had to then drive back too. Weather was shitty. Cold. Snow. Wind. So you know how awful that is to drive in. Did I mention I had to do that with a sister that is deaf so I had to do some sign language down the road and then when she was sleeping....not crank the music to loud because it would wake her....the whole vibration thing....

So, there I was, bitchy, annoyed three weeks quit. I made a promise early that morning so I coudn't use. That was my word. I had to keep it. I got cans of fake, bags of sunflower seeds, gum, candy, chips, chocolate, mountain dew etc. Everything I could think of to pack into my mouth....just as long as it wasn't nicotine.

Yes - you can do it. You can remain quit. Here's what you do. Make a promise. Keep the promise. Make a plan to ensure your promise. Oh...and the biggest one of all.....Keep that shit out of your mouth.

Quit on!

Embrace the Suck on those road trips and know that you are not a slave to that can which is killing you! I WILL pray that God will give you the strength to keep that shit out of your mouth and the fear out of your heart!

I won't pray for you, but I'll quit with you. God didn't put chewing tobacco in my lip for 17 years, I did, and so did you. Post roll call and get to know some quitters around here.

Hey bud I noticed you are also from the greatest state in the union...Texas. That's a good thing because for one thing, Texans don't let any chemical besides oil push them around and since nicotine isn't oil then it doesn't deserve any part of your time. Just kick it. You don't need it. I did the same thing 103 days ago and you're going to do it too, one day at a time (ODAAT). I'm like you, one of my bottom teeth was exposed because the gum had been worn away. I want to tell you that your gum will not grow back but they will get a heck of a lot more healthy and they won't hurt at all once you've quit. Let me tell you that the first three days or 72 hours is the most difficult. Then you run into a period called the SUCK and the only way to get through it is to embrace it and use KTC 100%. Make contacts on here by using the private message (PM) function to obtain phone numbers etc. You can find this function when you click on someone's underlined screen name. If you want just Texans, PM me and I can help you identify a few, if not just PM away and get you a sample of Americana. The cornerstone to KTC however is ROLL CALL. By the looks of it you will be in the February 2015 Quit Group. Roll Call is your promise or guarantee to your quit brothers and sisters that you will not use any nicotine product for the next 24 hours. Follow the directions in the Welcome Center to get on roll if you've not done so already. If you need immediate help, click on the LIVE CHAT label in the upper right corner and there will be folks on there to talk to. We are all addicts here and we are all here to help you Kill the Can.

Welcome BB. Just to correct you, you have been through all the stages of stoppage before, not quit. Today you QUIT and you stay QUIT! Yes, it is going to be a tough weekend BUT you got this. You need to have a positive attitude We have all been through what you are about to go through. The reward is a feeling that you can't describe. This weekend you need to drink huge amounts of water, eat seeds, get your self some sugar free candy, trust me you don't need sugar to go along with the fog, watch your caffeine intake for a while and most importantly, if you drink, don't!
We make a promise everyday to our fellow quitters that we will stay quit. This is your quit group.

Day 1 is Today
« on: November 14, 2014, 06:06:00 AM »
After over 15 years of dipping and several times trying to quit, I realize it was always for someone else. This time it is for me because I am scared. Noticed yesterday that one of my bottom teeth is exposed on the bottom, with the gums basically gone. Not sure how I never noticed it before, but it is there. I cannot and will not continue to do this to my body.

I have been thru all of the stages of quitting in the past, so I know these first few days will be tough. I just ask for prayer from all of you.

I travel on weekends to watch my older boys in football and tonight and tomorrow are both 3 hour road trips. This is when I would wear that can out! So, it is about to be a tough weekend.

Appreciate any help.
