This was my original username. The reason I switched names was because I couldn't remember what it was. Anyways, a couple of admins reminded me. I'm not afraid to face the music. Razd611, how'd you know what color my panties are?

I thought I was quit. Turned out I had only stopped for a while, 10 months or so. Posting roll really helped me get over the hump last time so I am back to finish where I left off. I'm done with this poison. I've got an eight month old girl now and I'm committed to being quit so that she never has to remember a childhood of dodging spit cups.
So you were a previous KTC quitter? Different name I guess. Come clean tell us who you are, what group you were originally in and then be prepared to answer the three questions to them, to your new group and to all supporters.

1. What happened?

2. Why did it happen?

3. What are you going to do differently?

Finally, remember having a child is great and wanting to change for her is noble but first you must quit for you. You are the one that caused your addiction, so you have to beat down your demons and let other bask in the glory of having a father with a face and tongue.
Let's Go thom.....Post em up so we can see what happened....use your previous name. what was it?
Yep. Out with it. You'll need to explain yourself if you ever expect your new group to trust you and ultimately accept you as someone they can lean on.
As a former member you know the drill. You came back needing help and support, and it's here, but you have face the fire first. Waiting to be quit with you.
Blah, blah, blah. I was a puss and a weak dick.

I didn't stay quit. Why the fuk not? What caused you to slip[ on your little pink panties and invite that whore back into bed with you?

What exactly you are you going to do differently this time? Seriously?

Day 6 and it's starting to get a little easier. I told the wife on Day 2 that I'd been lying to her for months and had started dipping again, but had just joined this support group and was going to quit for good this time. It felt good being honest with her, even though I knew she was not going to be pleased with me. However, she is fully supporting my quit now which doubly motivates me to stay strong thru the cravings.

I've found that excersize really helps get me thru the rough patches. About a month ago I started the Stronglifts program and have been sticking with it religiously. I've noticed that if I'm craving on the way to the gym, by the time I leave after a workout my cravings are gone. Gone!

That's all for now.

HnG, addiction made all of us liars. We would do whatever it took to feed our addiction. I had to confess to my wife also, and she is my #1 advocate. The freedom of being honest and straight forward with my wife is the most rewarding part of my quit. I'm quit with you!

30isEnuff - thanks for the links.

I was definitely just a "stopper" in the past, and even when I put away the can I was substituting with lozenges. I am committed to being a "quitter" now and am doing it the right way going cold turkey. I'm using tic tacs and hard candy to get my oral fixation. I tried one of those mint substitutes once before and didn't like it. Do y'all use anything?

Some other intro info: I am 31 and have been an addict for 16 years. I dipped just about every brand, especially the cheap shit when I was in college. I am fucking tired of dipping, hiding from my wife to dip, going to bed too damn late to have that one last dip and being tired all the time as a result, leaving social gatherings early to go home to dip, feeling my gums recede, watching my teeth get yellow, smelling my own bad breath. Yesterday I quit and today I also quit.

-HnG
'bang head' Dear Mr. Hokies 'n' Grizz fan,
Fuckin' A we use other stuff....cold water, sunflower seeds, fake hooch dip, toothpicks, candy, any gum without nic in it, tic tacs anything so that you do not put the "Poison" in your mouth. Chew on tree bark if you have to. If mints bother you, switch off to something else for awhile. rotate it out. As long as it is not nicotine.
Got to move though. Get to walking, running, exercise and sleep helps a lot in the beginning. The first week is the hardest. Getting the nic out of your blood is just a start. After that we battle the nic bitch mentally and win every a.m. when we post roll.
Get quit and worry about the oral fixation later. Nic kills, oral fixation does not.
You're drinking the kool air sir and you are doing the best thing you ever did for yourself. I promise you that.
From one nicotine addict to another, you've got to admit to being a nictoine addict. you may have never realized it before...we're no damn different or better off than those going to AA, NA or any other path to Freedom.
You can do this just like the thousands of Vets of QUIT who have quit before us.
Read all you can. Ask questions, get into chat for immediate needs.
Keeping my jaw and tongue...I like them.

Today is Day 1 for me. I've quit a number of times (longest quit was ~1 year), but I would always make some excuse to start again. It's only been 3 months since my last significant quit (5 months) and I've been weaning myself down to 2-3 dips per day for a little over a week. I've tried everything except joining an addicts' support group... so here it goes. If I make it past 72 hours I'll post a better intro.

-HnG
Dear Mr. Hokies 'n' Grizz fan, I'm sorry to inform you that you have never been quit of nicotine. You heard me. You were simply taking a break. A stoppage if you will.

You're not here by accident:

You cannot buy or hire the level of support that KTC gives:

You will suffer from nicotine usage, just a matter of "how" and "when":
read

I am an addict from dipping for 30 years, 24/7, and today I am quit again for the 251st time.
If you really want to be quit, notice I said "be" quit, then you gotta get looking into that mirror, alone, do some mother fuckin' self talk, honest to god honesty, break it down to you talking to you, telling your inner self that you're an addict until it sinks in, cry it out, shout it out, beat the wall whatever it takes to make a deep difference that you can "remember" so that it is the start of "Your new life". It has to be all about "YOU" and not the wife, the kids, the church, job or anyone or anything else. Make your quit as selfish as your dipping was.
What are you waiting for. Today is the best day to be quit.
Remember, 1 problem + nicotine = 2 problems.
You can do this ONE day at a TIME.
Post roll
keep your word
wake and repeat.

Quit with YOU today. 'bang head'

Agree with everyone. One added thought fuck 72 hours. We quit for today, don't ever think past the day! That can be a very difficult thing to do but it leads to success where thinking long term can plant seeds of doubt and failure.
