lungb, I have really enjoyed reading your intro. First of all, you are one hell of a quitter. Please don't worry about your wife right now. You dipped for you and now you are quit for you, not her. This is yours man and don't let anyone take that away. I quit with ya all day long today. Enjoy vacation.

Well today is day 23! I'm on vac with my family and I managed to make the 10 hr drive to the beach without the shit in my mouth! Everything is a trigger down here from the big eats to the beer and just the normal everyday beach life but I'm good. I don't need it!! My plan was to quit after vac just like every other year until I found KTC 23 days ago and I'm glad I did. I would never have quit when we got home because squirrel season would be coming in then deer season and then etc etc etc........ thanks everybody for your words and help!

Today is day 18 and I have had a lot of thoughts about dip these last couple of days. My wife says I've been an ass and that I should just go by a can, wow a lot of support. She doesn't get it and says all that I need to do is just not think about it. Its been a little rough at home and I start a 2 week vacation tomorrow so I gotta keep on the right path. I know that I will never just not think about it, this will be something that I will deal with each day forever. I created this 20 yrs ago and I have to deal with it! I do a ton of reading around here and this place is what keeps me on the right side!
Happy 4th to you all and your families!
You hang in there man. That's a really dangerously ignorant comment for your spouse to make. Clearly she doesn't understand it. Please hang in there. Use the groups, use your numbers and hang tough.
I'm at 215. It gets easier and you really do start to understand yourself and the addiction better. It's worth it man. I'm still making new. discoveries. You can do this.
Dude, things definitely get easier, but I agree with Bulldog, that's a rough line from your wife. One of the big tenets of this site is you quit for you, not for your family, and loved one's but for you only. After watching many people chronicle their quits over my time here it is easy to see who "gets it" right away, and lungb you definitely do. So keep doing what got you through 18 days. If it helps have your wife read the page for spouses. And have some fun on vacation.

Hang in there man. I, and all the other Sultans have your back. Some people just dint understand, ( like our wives). She made the comment to me the other day that i was a lit nicer when i dipped. She doesn't get why its so hard because she has never been addicted to something. It sounds like your wife is similar. Maybe refer her to the spousal support section on here, it helped my wife to understand a bit better what to expect and what i am going through. If not just remember it will only get better and eventually she will see its the best thing. Reach out if you need to man.

Keep rocking your quit. Youre doing awesome

Today is day 14. Its hard to believe that I've made it two weeks already! It seems like the last couple of days have been a struggle with working 16 hrs yesterday and really wanting one being the worst as of late. I really have to give credit to the KTC community! There is no way that I would still be on track without giving my word to a group of people that I don't even know and seeing that you all are going through the same thing. That is what has kept me from caving! Thanks everybody and I QLF with you all today!
Lungb, anyone here over day 14 knows where you are at. The fact that you didn't break down and cave shows what you are made of, and that you are breaking the shackles of slavery. I love the daily journal here, you will always be able to go back and read the good and bad of your quit. Damn proud to be quit with you today!
I love reading this stuff. Thanks for quitting today.
Way to be lungb! Those are 14 days you will never have to repeat. Done, finished. Keep going! Wait for the good stuff. Its coming.

Double digits with today being day 10! Days are getting a lot easier but still have some irritable moment's like yesterday but I got thru it! I'm going to cut back my updates to weekly I think. Thanks to all that have posted encouragement in my thread, I appreciate the assistance!
WTG Lug, Now just get the auto correct to like your name and it's all down hill from here. Never give in, never give up, no matter what.
Great job lungb. you've got a long way tyo go, but no way you will ever have to face down a tougher 10 day stretch.
