Joe C,

Have yourself a great weekend brother. See you on Roll tomorrow. Mowed the yard this afternoon for the first time in decades without a lipper full of cope. Wasn't all that bad....killing them little nicotine demons one at a time....in 9 minutes I hit 72 hours...

Let the friggin' mental games begin!!
CavMan,

I hit 72 hours an hour ago. Im going to do a bunch of yard work today as well. We'll see what triggers a crave. Hopefully, like you, it'll be fine. My trigger is the shitter. There are others but I cant have a seat without looking around for Cope.

Im feeling strong.....how bout you???

Joe
Have to be honest....I haven't had what I would call a decent dump in like four days. I don't know what it is about that crap that makes you crap, but it does. I read somewhere in an intro post or something about a guy that hit like day 10 and took the shit of his life, talking about angels and cherubs....it was funny as hell. Still waiting for my "angelic moment on the throne" :D

Other than that, I'm good. The Bacc-Off is okay....don't use near as much of it as I thought I would, but that's good too. Staying busy, staying on KTC Website (tons of good info in here from dudes what have gone before -- still in awe of 3,300 and know I got a LONG road to get there myself). One day at a time, brother, one day at a time....quitting with a website full of others going through the same struggles DAMN SURE makes it easier.

Hang tough, be strong...

JoeC - I like seeing the old guys like myself commit to quitting. I am 40 days quit and not gonna lie, very proud of being quit. You will never regret quitting. Post every morning and be nic free for the day. Keep adding the +1s ODAAT. Quit with you today.
Thank you, sir. I'm proud of my 3 days as well. I appreciate the support. So far so good.
How are you feeling at 40 days??
Mostly good. Been a good 40 days after the first 5 or so. The suck lives up to it's name. I still have many craves a day but it's all in my head. Major body rewiring after years of poison. It's the best move I have made in a loooong time. Now just need to stay quit, ODAAT.
D4M is legit. He knows what's up.

That rewiring talk is true, and I haven't been alive 40 years. I don't know if you have ever flown before, but I think quitting is like flying along the tops of the clouds, moving gradually upwards - sometimes you can't see anything (the Fog), but other times it's amazing. The longer I've been quit the more amazing times I've had.

3 days and the nic is out of your system, couple weeks and your mouth has repaired about all it can, and about 21 days the receptors in your brain are back to normal. I'm day 51 and my brain is still rewiring to handle the vibrant life of a quitter... it is amazing.

Stay quit, it is totally worth it
I was a ninja dipper, but I will have a berserker quit - Here's some encouragement

NEVER Ring the Bell! Watch this. It will change your life.

When a crave hits watch this.

"Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be Kind Always."

?Gentlemen, we are going to relentlessly chase perfection, knowing full well we will not catch it, because nothing is perfect. But we are going to relentlessly chase it, because in the process we will catch excellence. I am not remotely interested in just being good. ? ~ Vince Lombardi

"We all have our own demons that we face on a day to day basis. Some we can talk to others about. Some that we have to work through on our own. ...the nic bitch continues to knock on the doors my friends. Stay strong, stay vigilant." - Fireheeler; 6/11/14 in AUG14

Never cured, but quitting like this

What cost is too high?

From the moment you pulled the trigger and dumped that last can through the end of what I've read thus far on your thread, you sir have your head in the right mindset. My concern for you, however, is that you claim to have stopped dipping a number of times before, and one of those times, you stopped for over a year. What is your plan this time around? How are you going to be quit and remain quit? For starters, get that name on roll and begin to create that accountability network that Grizzly was referring to. If you're a man of your word and have a sound conscious, then the thought of stabbing your quit brothers in the back by caving to nicotine should a nice deterrent. Just start thinking about these types of questions to further your resolve. You're certainly going down the right path and I'll be glad to walk that path with you.
The difference is I was 22 years old then (invincible). Im 47 now and have 3 kids. I haven't tried to quit in 10 years. The day I go a day without thinking about dipping will be a new holiday on my calendar. Its going to happen. I just went through my first 24 hours pretty well. I expected to wake up with a headache and a massive Cope jones. Nope. Im baffled. Im sure its coming but for now Im solid. I think that ones resolve to quit has direct impact on the pain of their quit. Am I making sense? I wanted to quit badly. I planned to quit when I reached that mental point where I was ready. It was a process that took 4 or 5 months to get ready for. I tried talking some buddies into quitting with no luck. What kicked me over the edge was finding KTC. I didn't want to go through this alone.
Roll Call first Josey. Then you can gab with your buddies all you want. 1st post is Roll CAll. 1st thought when you wake up is...Roll Call. Don't waste a lot of time between the thought and the post. Take the option of a cave off the table early.

LOOT gets the point of pain/resolve. LOOT thinks you are kidding yourself :) If you think your addiction is gonna take it easy on you because it realizes you are serious this time, yous in for a serious ass whoopin. This fucker is gonna pull out all the stops just for that very reason. She will let you cruise. She will lull you to sleep while stroking your shaft. Then, she is gonna punch you right between the fucking eyes and do it again, and again, and again.

The best thing you can do is rest when you can. Identify your triggers before you hit them. After Roll Call...look at your day and identify and trouble spots. And always be prepared for the ones you don't see, that is the real test.

Quit on Josey.
Loot, where ya been? Missing those words of support and wisdom.
Today is day 3. Nic should have vacated the premises by days end. Correct???

Still feeling strong.

Joe

Joe,

I saw you bouncing back and forth between this intro post and the Roll call....dude, there can't be any waffling. either you decide you're done and you post for all the BAQ's to see you're done, or you don't. Choice is yours, but once you commit, you commit.

Post Roll or don't.....continue to poison yourself or have a committed group of supporters to help you quit one day at a time....

In your corner, dude.
cavman really???? i am not even saying anything to him because you got it covered. Awesome response.

Sixer -- guess I'm learning from the best :D
No waffling, gents. I couldn't figure out how to post to roll call. Evidently, I figured it out.
Do not take my cluelessness(on how to post roll) as a sign of weakness. No sir, I am all in.

And damn CavMan, do you have a camera over my shoulder?? Did you see me take a squirt a few min ago??

Heh heh. Thanks for caring.

Joe
