Joe welcome to a bad ass group of brothers in quit. You've just made one of, if not the best decision of your life, freedom. This is gonna be pure unadulterated hell. At least my quit was. Savor it, turn it into quit fuel. Feel the poison leave your system, and above all, remember the pain, let it be a reminder that you never want to go through this again. PM me if you need anything.
I would rather lose to a cheater than win as a cheater.

From the moment you pulled the trigger and dumped that last can through the end of what I've read thus far on your thread, you sir have your head in the right mindset. My concern for you, however, is that you claim to have stopped dipping a number of times before, and one of those times, you stopped for over a year. What is your plan this time around? How are you going to be quit and remain quit? For starters, get that name on roll and begin to create that accountability network that Grizzly was referring to. If you're a man of your word and have a sound conscious, then the thought of stabbing your quit brothers in the back by caving to nicotine should a nice deterrent. Just start thinking about these types of questions to further your resolve. You're certainly going down the right path and I'll be glad to walk that path with you.

Thanks for all of the support. Today was a feeding frenzy. I'm in sales so I drive all day. I equate dipping with driving. They are(were) synonymous. That said, I consumed about 2000 Smartees, 12 Tootsie Roll Pops, a large bag of Bigs Ranch Sunflower seeds, a pound of beef jerky. It worked. As long the old "pie-hole"(thanks basshaug) was working I was good.

Tonight, about 13 hours and 40 minutes post quit, I feel good. Im still all in. My resolve is unshaken.

I will review all of your posts and figure out how to post roll.

Stay strong!!!!

Joe
Great work Joe. It gets harder before it gets easier. But you can do this. Bunch up all your anger and throw it at each and every crave you have. Kick ass bud. Good luck.

Way to go! You have a great attitude. I'm in sales as well and always in my car. Sunflower seeds and atomic fireballs got me through.

Read this site constantly, never miss roll, make some friends, and everything will be fine.

Joe C,

Welcome man. Post roll every day. Drink a shit load of water in the next several days. Buy some seeds, fake shit, gum, whatever it takes to keep that poison out if your pie-hole.

The next few days will suck, but there is no question its the best decision you've ever made

Alright Joe C, like the others said, You're in the September group. Roll over to the Welcome Center and get down with posting roll in your group and what that means.

Seeing that you've stopped a few times, you already know that these first few days suck. Your biggest challenge is going to be figuring out NAFAR - Never Again For Any Reason. I imagine that year long stoppage caving came as a result of a JustOneWon'tHurtMe Dip. The thing us addicts need to remember is that Nicotine has us all down in her book. She's like Bizarro Santa Claus. She wants us to fuck up, and she's ALWAYS watching. We've gotta quit one day at a time, forever.

Glad you're here.

Get in there and post roll my man! Sounds like you want it, but the foundation of this site is posting roll. Commit to us Sultans in September 2014 that you won't use today. Simple as pie.

Let me know if there's anything I can do to help (other than hold your damn feet to the fire everyday of course).

Joe C, are you going to post roll and join us? Lots of new quitters yesterday and today, you can be one too and go through the SUCK together.

30 years.. 11,000 cans give or take a few hundred. Don't want to even calculate the money spent. FOR WHAT??
I have seen others post that they have been a "slave" to the can for far too long. So true. I've quit for a few months here and there and once for over a year 25 years ago. You all know how dipping ruled(s) your lives....I'm tired of it.

I have been weaning off for two days. Set my timer on my phone for 2.5 hour intervals. This AM....I found KTC. I read for about 5 minutes, walked to the toilet and dumped out the last of my Cope.
My dipping days are over. 7:00AM 6/11/14 the last dip of my life. I know this is going to suck, epically, but I already feel free.

I'm glad to find there is help out there. My attempts to quit in the past would surely have been successful with others to share in the pain and offer support.
I haven't read the history of KTC but whoever's brain child it was is the man.

How do I locate a group to join for support?

Stay Strong.

Joe

I'm right there with you. I didn't do the math, but I'm sure a can a day for 30 years was a lot of $. I think the whole idea is we have to "man up" and get pissed off that we've been held hostage for so long. Who in the hell wants to be a crack addict.
