Welcome, Ace. We crossed paths briefly this morning when I responded to your post about wife and kids. You seem like a dedicated guy who is willing to adapt and make your quit work. You and I share a lot of similarities in age and current stage of life. I chewed  dipped for 19 years. I quit 254 days ago. The door slammed shut (you'll eventually understand that, cause I didn't until it happened) somewhere around 200. I am an ex-dipper, but will always be an addict. The same applies to everyone here. Congrats on your decision. Let me know if I can help you. PM if you need digits.

Dude, love your attitude. You obviously poked around here some and have an idea of what we're about. Get to quittin' and be a man of your word. You shall earn the freedom you so desire. There is no try there is only do.

I'm definitely quit with you.

Welcome Ace, congrats on the choice!

Post up, read and get involved. There is a beer quit group in the wildcard section. I know those badasses would love to have you there as well.

New to this site (and blogging generally speaking), definitely not new to the idea of quitting the nic bitch. I'm a 33 yo married father of 2 (boy/girl; 4/2) with an 18 year monkey that I'm looking to drop for the last time. We live in the Chicago suburbs and I've been very, very blessed in my life; good upbringing, good job, good education, great family, and my reasons for quitting are no different than everyone else. Kids, wife, health, etc...I just want to be done. I've quit quitting a handful of times over the years and it never held for all the reasons we're sooooooooo familiar with...those pansy-ass excuses will kick you off the wagon every time.

I'm not sure what made me Google 'quit dipping' yesterday, but I ended up here and was AMAZED by reading the posts and the idea of daily RC. I never really gave proper credit to the extent to which nicotine affects your life...it truly taints EVERY aspect of your being, sick to think about. So I'm sticking with you guys because I know that you'll hold me accountable and someday I want to be an inspiration to someone else that needs to punch the nic bitch in the face.

I quit drinking 10 years ago (I have one of those amazing 'addictive personalities' that apparently needs to be focused on productive things, lol), which was 100 x's easier than dropping the tin. Biggest lesson from this site so far: the time is NOW, not tomorrow, not after one last fattie, not when my Bacc-off gets here, it's RIGHT NOW.

TO MY QUIT GROUP- I WILL NOT BAIL ON YOU AND I WILL CHECK ON YOUR ASS TO MAKE SURE YOU HIT ROLL CALL...WELCOME TO THE PRE-HOF CLASS OF SEPT 2011 BITCHES...WE'RE GONNA MAKE IT ONE DAY AT A TIME.
