I was at Walmart today and as I was walking I looked up and saw Nicorette gum and for the tiniest second thought about it. I've never used the stuff and never will. That's not a real quit.

I went into the liquor department to buy some wine and when I was checking out, saw that Grizzly was only $5.50 a can. I wasn't tempted at all, but remembered I used to pay about $8.00 a can.

Was at the gas station later buying a candy bar for my wife and a customer had left a can of Grizzly on the counter along with some other stuff he was buying. He had gone back to pick something else up. The cashier set his stuff aside and helped me. All the while I was hoping that the guy would come back before it was time for me to leave. I was going to tell him to check out killthecan.org. He didn't make it back in time, so I left. Maybe next time.

That's a nice victory, Reese. Any time you can squash a crave or get through a trigger, that's huge. Stay strong. Quitting with you today.

Well here I am at day 64 and I am still craving this crap. I still crave a big juicy dip of Grizzly. It's still physical. Some say it should be only mental now, but I can feel it in my tongue. It's tingling and aching where it touched the chew. Nicotine is a horrible addiction. I'll be glad when/if the carvings end.
Keep reading everything here on KTC and make sure you have some phone numbers. You need to text and talk with quit buddies. Shoot me a PM if you need a phone number.

It's allowed my gums and front lip to heal while the constant acid reflux is completely gone. Man, once you envision freedom, there's no turning back. Congrats! Reach out if you need a number or two.
Case in point, I haven't thought of acid reflux in a month or so............because I have been quit for 33 days. Just another reason your quit and my quit and everyone's quit are so important, there is shit being fixed w/o even thinking about because all of that poison is staying on the shelves instead of in your mouth. Just another reason to say NAFAR, and I quit with you today.
Some of my fondest and clearest memories are peeing in places that aren't bathrooms.

Just wanted to say that, although I just joined the forum and don't know any of you, I think about you all many times a day. When the cravings hit hard I think about all the quitters here and that if I cave, it affects the whole bunch - not just me.

I know that some of you are watching me and I am watching you, too.

Well I'm not caving and I hope that none of you do, either! We can do this and when we are more resolved in our quit, we can continue to help the new quitters stay quit.

It's never ending just like the fact that we are addicts is never ending.
I'm right there with you, Reese. Never again, no matter what. That little promise every morning has put money in my pocket... a shit load. It's allowed my gums and front lip to heal while the constant acid reflux is completely gone. Man, once you envision freedom, there's no turning back. Congrats! Reach out if you need a number or two.
Reese - stick close to this site and let the information stay in your head all day. Build a web of accountability and think of those guys every time you have a craving.....it makes it better
Reeseb you are in the right place to quit. But I must say you are little wrong in your statement. You may not see it now, but yes you know us and we know you. We all have that addicted part that brings us to be so much like one another it is confounding.

So here is the promise as you go forward in this journey. Follow what we have here at KTC. Give your promise each and every day, AND start to get to know a few of the persons in your group and on this site (expand it to past the addict part of the person). If you do that your quit will be successful.

since this is the equation: Accountability + Brotherhood = Success.

yell if you need anything. You Can Do This.

In my opinion you are never really safe from the potential of using nic again .....

I used from about 1980 to 1996 and quit til 2004 and then starting using chew again til feb 2014 ..... Very heavy usage the past two years ..... Kodiack in at all times except work where I used rich blend pouches ....... Still have the craves but using some fake stuff which helps .... Grinds or Hooch .

One day at a time...
I'm safe today. I gave my word and I aim to keep it. Quit on my friends!
^^^you got that right, Srans. No way I do nic today. Already promised thousands of other quitters that I wouldn't.
Welcome Reese! 36+ year chewer here.
You have the support of some of the most bad ass quitters known. Use them. Reach out if you feel weak.
Srans point is that we can only control right now. That's all you should focus on.
Remember that the craves will pass whether you use nic or not.
BTW I live an hour north of Fayetteville.
Quit with you today!
