To all,

This is my second intro so I am going to keep it short. I failed in my last quit attempt due to weakness and latching on to an excuse to fail. I caved after 30 days quit. I believe I am more prepared to deal with my addiction this time around and will be using my resources appropriately.

I have been an addict for 20 years and have stopped for up to a year before, but the Nic bitch got me back. I have used Redman, Skoal Pouches, and Camel Snus.

One thing of note you wont hear my blaming tobacco companies for my addiction.  Thats like the meth addict blaming the dealer.  I knew it was addictive I stopped for over a year before and then started again.  I am the one to blame for my addiction not tobacco companies.
You won't score any points here putting the shithole tobacco companies on a pedestal. They ALWAYS have made money off your ass by selling a highly addictive product, and mercilessly marketing it to you and your (future) children.

And fuck the meth dealer, too. That's some shitty logic, bro. You think the people and companies that supply this shit have no culpability, and you are entirely at fault?

Don't let mthomas catch wind of this BS.

Stay strong in the meantime.
My point was that blaming others for my problems is just a way to perpetuate the problem. At no point in time did I put tobacco companies on a pedastal. I just don't think blaming other people for my addiction to nicotine is the way to truly escape this addiction. Face it head on, smash through it, and be done with it.
I like the attitude.

Quit today. Look forward to your next roll post tomorrow.
It pains me greatly to say this, but I agree with Carumba.

jpsmitty, IMHO, that attitude will take you far. Hate UST all you want, but I think you realize that YOU are the one in control. We ultimately are to blame for this mess.

Regardless of the blame, GREAT call quitting brother. Contact me anytime if I can help.
*Quit today. Full stop. No qualifiers. Tomorrow?... IDK, IDC.

Fair enough.

However, keep in mind there are more than a few badass quitters on this site who wake up in the morning, roll out a karma rug, assume the position facing east on our knees and unbridle a double-bird fuckoff to Big Tobacco.

Remember Yoda: "Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to some serious fucking quitting." I don't remember which episode that was in, but it was always my fave, especially when he smacked the indian convenience store clerk.

Rock on, bro.

so I took the patch off at 5 o'clock today I have stopped before cold turkey I can do it again.  One thing of note you wont hear my blaming tobacco companies for my addiction.  Thats like the meth addict blaming the dealer.  I knew it was addictive I stopped for over a year before and then started again.  I am the one to blame for my addiction not tobacco companies.  So if you offer me support over the next 100 days I greatly appreciate it, but I wont be bitching about tobacco companies.  I will be bitching at myself.
Now that you took that patch off you have to tell yourself never to put that bitch on ever again. If you haven't heard this before, you are hearing it now. This place place is not for people TRYING to quit. You must be 100% committed because there are a lot of people with eyes on you. Just show some integrity and rid yourself of all nicotine, post roll each day and pledge that you will not use that shit ever again. We are here to support you but youalso got to prove yourself through accountability. DON'T GIVE UP!!
I am happy to quit with you. PM or text if you need anything.
Post your promise today... keep your word today.

Anyone can quit for one day..... then repeat the process tomorrow.

As far as bitching at the tobacco companies. Feel free, their products kill hundreds of thousands of people every year. FUCK THEM !!

STAY QUIT

Whether nicotine dependency was established and/or maintained by being chewed, smoked, drank, snuffed, sprayed, swallowed, sucked, licked or patched, in the end there is only one way out - no nicotine today.

First off my man, this is a no nic site. No patches, lozenges, suppositories, etc (you get the idea). Get rid of all of that crap and embrace the suck that is three days of withdrawal. You are only postponing the inevitable with the alternate delivery methods.

Second, go here:

index.php?showforum=13

It will help you learn about what we do here.

So I quit on Thursday, just decided it was time. I am using the patch since my addiction was up to about 3/4 of a can of Camel Snus a day and I usually kept the pouch in for at least 45 minutes. Who knows how much nicotine I was actually getting. My quit buddy is already back on the can so I came on here for help. Four days in and doing okay, still after every time I would normally put a dip in I think "time for a dip" like when I sit down at my desk or finish a meal, or open a beer.
Well jp, you aren't quit, you are getting the drug a different way. You aren't addicted to snus, you are addicted to nicotine. Putting a patch on your arm is just getting it another way.

Do you really want to be free? Rip off that patch and by Thursday all nicotine will be out of your system. It's not going to be easy but it can be done and we will help, get the patch off your arm.
A promise not kept is the road to exile.

If quitting is cool, consider me Myles Davis.

Unless you bring value onto my 1/2 acre, I don't want to hear it.
