OK, great thanks.

So if I understand this, "every" day I do roll call in my group.

What if I'm having a rough day or just need to scream? Do I stay within my group, do a live chat, hit up another forum for the day?

I'm sadly horrible at navigating things like this. I didn't see a "forum rules" section anywhere and know that etiquette is extremely important in forums.

Thanks again.
Post roll call in your group first thing in the morning. After that you can post anywhere you want. Most people will post in their quit group or there own intro page. If you need to talk to some one, jump onto live chat or shoot someone a pm. You should also exchange some phone #s with members of your group. Text or call a brother/sister if you are having a bad crave. Jump on the wild card section if you just want to screw around.

Other then posting roll call daily, there really is not any "forum rules". Scream anywhere you want.

Simply put, write down what your last dip felt like. All the shittiness. You need to remember this, and document it so that when the nic bitch creeps up on your quit, whispering about that one "aah" moment you had with her 22 years ago, you can be honest with yourself about what ALL the dips after that one were: SHITTY.
Your mind is a lying, cheating, stealing whore. Your body is a saint. Now, who are YOU going to listen to?

The most helpful hint I got: Don't put that crap in your mouth ever again. There are a ton of people here that can help you. There are many tools to keep you quit. Use them and put your mind into this. You have to want it, and do anything possible to stay clean. You up for it?

Any helpful hints? Dude, you came to the right place.

Click the "Welcome Center" pink looking link above. There you will learn the basics - the biggest being "posting roll". By posting roll, you go to your quit group (which will be January 2012) and you post your name and quit days. By posting you make a promise not to use ANY FORM of nicotine for the day. This is your word. You wake up the next day and repeat. It's that simple. Don't get me wrong, it's not easy but it can be done.

Pretty similar to your stats, I'm 39 and dipped for 21 years. This morning I posted my 83rd day nicotine free. If I can do it, YOU can do it.

In addition to posting roll, read all there is on this site; get in the live chat to talk to folks and KEEP YOUR PROMISE. So your homework right now is to go in and post roll - click the Welcome Center link to learn how.

I will be looking for you on the roll.

Again, welcome aboard and congrats on making a decision to take your life back. Shout/PM if you need anything.

Hello there.
I'm scubaboy. 37 years old. Been dipping for 22. I decided to kick it last Friday.

Any helpful hints for the first timer?

Thanks.
