Hi there MedicDan,
Been with my department for 22 years been chief for last 10. Last week at a meeting I challenged my ff's to quit along with me. Kind of like here the more people you can surround yourself with that understand what you are going through the easier it will be. Not sure where you are located and you may already know, but starting April 19 is FDIC in Indianapolis an excellent conference and showcase of fire and ems equipment. Something to do to keep the quit on.

On the fire side we put the Wet Stuff on the Red Stuff!!!!!!!!!

On the ambulance we put the White Stuff on the Red Stuff!!!!!!! 'Cheers'
Glad to meet ya and I thank you for the advice, I am on day 32 and past the 30 day mark still hanging in thier.

I was just bein a smartass for the most part. My b-day is feb 5th.

However, from a personal standpoint, my way of thinking though is that decision dates, first attempt dates, etc. don't mean jack. Nothing really means anything except the last day you chewed/first day you didn't. I've planned to quit chewing many, many times. So what?

I didn't even count the day I had my last chew as my quit date. F THAT! I had a chew that day. Why would that day mean anything for me?

That said, if Feb 5th means something to you because it's the day you made your decision, so be it. For me, I could care less about any day I had a chew in my mouth when to comes to this stuff.

Whatever the case...keep on keeping on, brother. As long as we're done with the shite. Almost a month, bro! Look forward to having that much time.
Awsome my Birthday is Feb 2nd Ground Hogs Day, thanks for your input.
hay man welcome to the club cause if you click on the calinder and go back to feb you can see we got 12 more that day.
Hey thanks for the welcome to the club............

See his Yoda pic? That's Jedi math, Loot. Nuthin we can really do about it.

Seriously, though, I think Loot might be on to something there. Kinda gotta sync up the quit day and the last chew day and all.
Yes the yoda picture was not the right picture for me and the math was not correct my quit date was the 21st of February at 6pm, I started my plan to quit on the 5th of February.

MedicDan here just wanted to say hey just joined today of all days St. Patrick's Day! My quit started on February 5th 2010 after 33 years of chewing Copengagen but my actual last chew was the 21st February.
*LOOT raises hand*

uh...dude?

how you quit on the 5th and take your last dip in the 21st? LOOT is a little slow and not real good at math...sooooo
I attempted my planned quit on the 5th of February but my actual quit started the day I had my last chew on the 21st of February, at 6 pm while on shift I spit that chew out and dumped all my cans.
