I've been staring at "Satisfaction since 1822" since I was 14. I've tried and failed to quit at least 50 times. Now I'm 34, happily married, have three beautiful children, 2 daughters and a son. My wife sent me an article this morning after my dentist appointment from KTC and I immediately took a video dumping a brand new can of cope in the trash and sent it to her. I'm ready to be done with this shit. I'm scared as hell but ready to be done. Looking forward to the next 20 years with no can!

I haven't checked up on my intro since day 3 or 4. I didn't realize how many people had looked at it, let alone posted to it. Thank you all for your support. Yes, I had lunch with W2W yesterday, great guy and a damn fine quitter. Learned a lot over lunch, Thanks again Michael.

It's been 37 days and I feel in control so far. I can attribute that to KTC and the overwhelming support of some damn good quitters!

Again, Thank You!

Making that personal connection is a great key to use as a way to keep clean.

It might be only 1 person but now you know that behind the keyboard there are many just like you who are real and going through (or been through) the same things.

Well done reaching out, and building that friendship and brotherhood. Let this lead you to success.

And W2W is pretty good, solid guy. We have spoken but across the US can be a little tough to meet. Just have to watch him at times... 'na na'

Hi Bubba,

Rumor has it you had lunch with the legendary W2W - What a great idea! He helped me a lot back when I was in my foggy early quit with December 2014. He told me that it gets "so much better", which was very hard to believe at the time. But dammit, he was right. The fog eventually lifted, although it can settle in again from time to time.

Check your PM - you've got this!

Glad to be quit with you.

CJ
X2 on everything CJ wrote you Bubba. I don't know what you and Worktowin talked about at lunch but I can guarantee you he would never steer you wrong when it comes to your quit. He's one of the most solid quitters here. Just keep adding up those plus ones. Try to dwell on the good things about claiming your freedom. Great days are ahead bro. Don't look back!
X3 bubba! W2W is a badass quitter and a friend! He was one of the first ones that told me the fog would lift and it gets easier and by golly he's right but it does take patience. You're doing great! Quit on!
Tobacco is so addictive it took me a year after a massive heart attack, in which doctor confirmed caused from dipping to finally put a lid on the bitch! ODAAT EDD

Hey bubba glad you're jumping in. It's hard at first but amazingly worth it. You're getting sound advice from all the guys above. Read, read, read. Go way back in a few guys' intros. Log in your experiences here for a record later of what you went through along the way- gives you something to refer back to and feel proud later, and that actually reinforces your quit. Keep it up and reach out if you need help- lots of guys have done it before and only quitters can really know what you experience. It'll be great to break free!!
This info helped me early on, and still does today: https://whyquit.com/whyquit/linksaaddiction.html

Quitters I’ve met so far: Ihatecope, >Pinched<, T-Cell, grizzlyhasclaws, Canvasback, BaseballPlayer, Cbird65, ERDVM, BradleyGuy, Ted, Zeno, AppleJack, Bronc, Knockout, MookieBlaylock, Rdad, 2mch2lv4, MN_Ben, Natro, Lippizaner, Amquash, ChristopherJ, GDubya, SRohde  -- always eager to meet more!

Good chatting with you last night, dude. Now scoot on over to the roll call and get your Day 2 up there. Once you make a Day 2 out of a Day 1 it gets a little easier. I'll quit with you today.

Promise.

Congrats on making the best decision of your life.

Nice job on posting roll. Remember it is a promise to yourself and to the brotherhood that you will not use nicotine for that day.

Some help for the next couple of days. Drink lots of water. Your body is going to be flushing that evil out of your system and drinking lots of water will help. Read and Post. There are thousands of quitters who have walked in your shoes and take the time to come back and help new quitters. The wealth of knowledge and support here is unreal.

Make some friends in your Dec quit group. I am in there with you and you can PM me anytime.

I quit with you today. Stay strong and don't be afraid to ask for help.
Bubba post roll early every damn day! You do that and stay in touch with quitters daily and freedom from nic will be yours! We will definitely be here for you and remember we were all scared at one time but you will overcome that shortly it's the addict in you telling you that you can't do this! And I say bullshit 269 days later after 38 year's I'm doing so I know you can! This is your quit, take control, own it, it's yours! Damn proud to be quit with you!
