Hey tan , if you need to have some oral fixation you can use fake tobacco. I've been using bacoff. Works for me, main goal here is staying quit! Keep it up! Proud to be quit with you!
Tobacco is so addictive it took me a year after a massive heart attack, in which doctor confirmed caused from dipping to finally put a lid on the bitch! ODAAT EDD

Keep it up man. I'm just wrapping up day 2. It's hard but worth it. Get some sunflower seeds! :)

Thanks guys, I've pushed through the first 40 hours so far with no nicotine. I bought a few packs of regular gum (not nicorette) and have been chewing it like crazy to get my oral fixation under control. Just need to get through this day by day and it will get easier. It already feels nice to not be a slave to the can. No more stops at the gas station at 2 in the morning so I could have my fix.

New to this site - Today is my first day not using dip after 4 years of a can a day nasty habit.
Ive thought about doing this many times but now that I've come across this website and actually posted to it, I feel committed. The Grizzly bear has been by my side for way to long, it's time to give it up. I was hoping I could go cold turkey, but I may break down and buy some nic gum very soon. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks-
Tanner
If you had a friend that was an alcoholic who drank a case of beer every day, would you encourage them to quit by switching to vodka?

Would you tell a cocaine addict that a good way to quit is to try meth?

Sounds crazy, doesn't it? That is what drug  tobacco company suggestions that lozenges/gum/patches/ecigs and all other nicotine product replacement are... Insane. I have a kid who works for me that pops those lozenges like candy. I have another one that sucks on an ecig like a crack pipe.

Day one sucks. But, you quit! And you'll never have to relive it. But the very second that your body gets even a teeeeeeensy tiny taste of nicotine, BOOM! Reset back and start all over. You've done a killer job sucking it up so far. One day at a time you can do this. Just worry about today and keep nicotine out of your system!
Don't do it!

Yes day 1 Day 2 and Day 3 SUCK!!!!!!!

Day 4 is easy!

Each day after that who knows? I think it seems to be different for most everyone. But by Day 3 you are NIC free and then it becomes just a decision rather than a dependency you battle.

Hang in there brother, I quit with you today! And tomorrow I quit again with you, and the next day....... And so on. ODAAT 'tough'
KISS MY ASS, I DON'T NEED YOU ANY LONGER.

ACTUALLY I NEVER NEEDED YOU, I WAS JUST TO FUCKING WEAK TO REALIZE I WAS ADDICTED TO YOUR FUCKING SHIT!

NOW I KNOW!

I use to use Cope to Cope for over 30 years, now I have to Cope without Cope just to Cope.
