My chew journey started 23 years ago while attending boarding school. I've been chewing a tin of Skoal Mint long cut every day for a long time. Chewing has plagued my mind and messed with my head more than anything in my lifetime. It has controlled so much in my life and has affected my relationships, my job, my confidence, my self worth, my health. The idea of quitting has scared the crap out of me but it all came together while at the dentist last week. I was told that I would need some grafting done on my gums. That was it, I decided right then and there that on Dec 18th I would quit. I am only 5 days in but it is going very well so far. Some intense craves but keeping busy and active has helped a lot. My wife is very supportive and has never pressured me to quit but instead always said "it has to come from you". Prior to finding this site I always felt so alone in my addiction to chew. For years I had tons of hockey buddies that I chewed with but I've been the only one that didn't quit for years. This site has been instrumental in helping me stay the course. I would really like to hear from others and have some dialogue during my journey. Any advice on getting the most from the site is welcome. Thanks to all for inspiring me with your stories. Pelly, glad you are here to quit with us. Here are a couple tips:
1. You are an addict like the rest of us. Nicotine is the drug and chew has been our method to use. It had control over us physically and psychologically, but no more, never again.
2. Post roll call every damn day, March 2015 is your group. I didn't see you on roll today, that is the backbone of the site. It is your promise to yourself and your fellow quitters to not use nicotine and chew for today.
3. Read everything on this site, what to expect, the spousal support section, there is a wealth of quit knowledge here
4. Get active and stay active post in other groups, support new and old quitters, you only get out what you put in.
5. Fight for your quit each day, you can't undo 23 years of addiction in a week, or a month, or a year. It is going to take a lot to rewire our brains.

Welcome Pelly, Idaho Spuds gave ya some great advice, take it. I see you haven't posted roll yet in March, get your ass in there, posting roll is the foundation of your quit. If you can't figure out how to post roll PM me and we'll get ya squared away.
Secondly, get angry man. The nic bitch has taken so much from you; time, money, health, confidence, etc. it's time to show that bitch who is the boss. Develop that hatred towards nicotine, it's done nothing to help you, it's only hurt you.
Third, get to know guys in your quit group and beyond. Posting roll is great, and it's essential to quitting here, but it means nothing if you don't have a connection with your fellow quitters. Make sure to get to know your quit group call em, text em, post with em, cause they're the ones who are gonna be there for you to talk you off the ledge when you're craving at 1 am.
Lastly, you said you want to get the most out of this site, then start reading. This site has a wealth of information, but not all of it is going to be on the front page, you're gonna have to dig to find some of it. Plus it'll distract you from a crave, the fog, rage, etc.
